His warmth was like a beacon cutting through the storm, a blanket on a cold winter's day. Doll wanted to move closer to him and she had the odd desire to curl up beside him like they had back home. Everything came easier with Zero, there was none of the awkwardness of having other Masters, no fear of asking questions, or being curious. Curiosity wouldn't get her in trouble with Zero, he seemed almost entertained by her thirst for knowledge. "Is it your brother?" She asked, looking at their hands. She tried to squeeze it gently, to reassure him that everything would be alright. The news that they weren't in Alaska was a bit disappointing, but it was to be expected.
"I saw him that day, in Madame's house, he has white hair like you." Speaking that much hurt, Doll would stick to short sentences for now. Her head lulled to the side as she looked at him, wires pulling uncomfortably. She didn't mind though, it felt awfully familiar.
"What happened?" Doll asked quietly. Unlike most traumatic things that happened, Doll had retained her memories, but they didn't make much sense. Pain, mostly, and some sort of emotion like anger or fear. Her head throbbed from thinking about it so she decided to stop. Yes, that felt much better, thinking of nothing was always easier. "Does it hurt?" She asked, knowing he had probably driven himself to the point of injury with worry. That was what Zero did, it seems. He would go crazy with worry, seemingly self destructing.
