Once he'd purchased the cleaner, Hinata made to leave, but turned back toward his friend while standing in the doorway. "Oi, Makko. Just so you know, we have a sale on cake right now and the shifts don't change till eight, so if you get off before then don't be afraid to stop by on your way home. Good night~" Grinning and waving to the boy, Hina headed out of the store and hurried back to the cafe, just in time to clean the stain before the next rush hour crowd poured in. He was rather busy for the next thirty minutes or so and hardly even had time to wash his hands in between different customers. XXX
When he did finally get a break, he simply flopped down on a chair in the corner of the kitchen, watching the other waitresses prepare confectionery and wallowing in the heat of the room, as well as the comforting smells. Most of his work nights were insanely busy, but he didn't really mind all the hustle. XXX
"Hey, Hideki." Hina looked up to find Jintan standing above him, leaning on the wall and apparently waiting for his order to finish being prepared. "You in love with that Kazekiri kid or something? He used to come in here all the time with some guy named Takazaki, but yesterday was the first time I've seen him here in a while, and you were pretty much ogling him the entire time you spoke to him." Hinata sighed, punching Jintan in the side playfully before standing up and returning to his work without a word. He knew Jintan would probably just tease him about it. XX
Of course, it wasn't as if he was embarrassed or afraid to admit it. If need be, he wouldn't hesitate to tell the whole school that he was in love with Makoto. It was more that he didn't want to get his hopes up, especially since the boy was still vulnerable. In time, perhaps, he could find a way to help. XX
