The twins stood patiently as the Archmage and Paladin exchanged greetings. Marcellus was soon speaking agin, explaining what would happen. Vidari, initially offended by not being offered to help with this "teleportation" was less offended now at the news that these mages would face the same fate as their king. It was a sad day in Centralia, but hopefully the people here could successfully start the kingdom anew.

Martellus was interrupted by a loud noise which came from above the room they were standing in. Both of the elves looked up at the ceiling, expecting it to come crashing down. It didn't, to their relief, but knowing what was happening above them was just as bad. Just standing here waiting for the mages to finish made them feel useless. They could be killing Grandun's soldiers and then be teleported. But they were already in this room and there was no leaving it.

The Head Paladin excused himself, telling the group to stay put and assuring them that he would not let anyone pass though the hall they had just entered from. Instinctively, Caclia started to follow him. Vidari grabbed her by the arm, stopping her. "What do you think you're doing? Head Paladin Martellus told us all to stay here," he said in a hushed voice.

"Yes, but if he needs help and nobody is there, what then? The soldiers will come for us next and we won't be able to kill them all." Caclia attempted to shake her brother off of her, but his hand remained gripping her arm firmly. "Vidari, it's my job as a knight to-"

"-to serve the king and protect the innocent. Trust me, I know. You've only said it a thousand times. But our king wants us here. He wants us to go to whatever land we are sent to and to rebuild from there. He wants us to protect these people. These people are innocent civilians. It's your job as a knight to protect them and to listen to King Pedwin-- who in turn put Head Paladin Martellus in charge of us." He looked her in the eyes, which were identical to his own. "Stay here, Caclia."

She mumbled a few curse words and stepped to where she had been standing. Her brother was right, much to her dismay. She should stay where she was as instructed. But if Martellus ended up in trouble because nobody was there to help him, she was blaming her brother.
