It was completely reckless and unsanitary, not to mention that their blood may not be a match at all. If the Doctor could have fixed her so easily like this, he would have done it already, knowing that Zero would eagerly agree. Instead something so rash could be detrimental, having the opposite effect of what Zero was trying to do. Luckily for Zero, the only thing that seemed to happen was a spike on the heart monitor due to the sudden pain of her flesh being cut into.
Doll opened her eyes, squinting at the harsh light. Someone had uncuffed her wrist, lifting it and holding it against something wet. As her eyes began to focus, Doll blinked in confusion, believing she was seeing things. "Zero!" Had Doll's desire to see him manifested some sort of illusion? She tried to sit up, but moving was still hard and the action left her breathless. Zero was the one holding her wrist up, blood dripping down her arm, staining the white sheets of the bed. "That hurts," she whimpered as the pain hit her nerves and sent the signal up into her brain. Was this really Zero? He was dressed impeccably, far too clean for someone who had been missing. Maybe it really was an illusion then...
Ren came in, speaking his brother's name. Her heart soared, it really was Zero, he truly was in the room with them, not just a trick of the eyes. The glass door opened, Dr. Atarashi stepping inside with Grell right behind him. They wore expressions that were a mix of shock and confusion. They believed they were going to have to go after Madame, but it seemed he had come right back to them. "Step away from her Zero," the Doctor warned. "That's not going to fix anything." Doll's arm had begun to tingle from being held up, the blood loss was making her lose sensation in that arm. "Zero?" Doll asked, her voice small.
"What's going on?" She didn't understand why the others seemed mad and scared by his presence. Doll was happy, happy he had returned, that he wasn't dead, that Madame hadn't really been torturing him. It really all was just a nightmare, nothing more, it seemed. But then, why was everyone so on edge? One of the machines beeped, picking up the spoke in heart rate. Something cold shot through her veins and Doll winced at the burning sensation it left behind. Her aqua eyes dulled as the sedative pumped through her body, causing her mind to fog and thoughts to swirl. Doll opened her mouth as though to say something, then closed it again, her thoughts drifting away.
"I'm not going to say it again Zero." Doctor Atarashi warned, slowly reaching into his pocket for something to immobilize Zero. Something wasn't right, that much was obvious, but what, Dr. Atarashi didn't know.
