The first Drow to reach Lance took a jab straight at his gut. Lance swiped the blade out of the way with his own blade and thrust his other blade forward, the sword going through the Drow's head. Three left and they were all upon him.

They stood around him in a circle, knives drawn and ready to cut through some meat. Lance studied each one carefully, one blade held behind him, one blade held in front. He was hoping they would all charge at once in a coordinated effort, making the takedown he had prepared quick, clean, and efficient. Spinning the blades in his hands, he gave each Drow a patronizing look, hoping to egg them on. Before they could do anything, a large light spread through the hallway. Lance shielded his eyes, hoping he wouldn't be blind from the endeavor.

When Lance opened his eyes, he found the Drows gone. All that remained in their place was an entirely new paint job.

So much for clean.

Knowing who had caused that powerful attack, Lance turned to Satogi. "Thanks," he said before looking to see that Koko was fine other than the blood that was running down the side of his face. "Uh, Koko, you got a little something riiiiiiight..." instead of finishing the sentence, he demonstrated by vigorously rubbing the side of his face.
