Amara felt Alice jump when Alastor appeared in front of them, she crossed her arms the look he gave her told her a lecture was coming her way. "What the hell happened? Why'd you disappear? You know it's not safe to go out there alone. So what was it? Angel or demon? Were you followed? Do we need to pack up, and relocate?" Alice shifted slightly looking over at Amara. βAlice, you can go.β The smaller girl nodded turning on her heal moving back down the hallway.
βI was attacked by a demon, and I didnβt disappear.β She grumbled leaning up against the wall keeping her arms crossed, she wondered if he had noticed she was wearing on of his sweaters yet, the thing was so large on her she probably could have disappeared in it. βClearly wearing your sweater was a waste of time, your scent didnβt mask mine. Heβs dead by the way, the demon. I also checked to see if he had any friends. I made sure I wasnβt followed.β Amara pushed off the wall wrapping her arms gently around Alastorβs neck. βIβm fine, I promise.β She pulled away just enough to look at him and smile, she locked eyes with him for a second biting her lip was her way of restraining herself. She pulled away from him falling into step beside him as they continued down the hallway.
βRumor has it an Archangel is running around. Heavenβs patience must be wearing thin for them to have sent one.β Amara commented, even then she found it strange that they had sent one. The Archangelβs were basically gods of war themselves she would have thought Heaven would have saved them for when Hell was weak an vulnerable easy to take out. βI wonder how many lives are going to be lost because of that.β Amara crossed her arms unease coming over her at the thought, to many lives had already been lost to the fight between Heaven and Hell no matter what they did the numbers kept climbing. She went to say something else but one of Alastorβs demons came up before she could get the first word out.
βSir, Marcus sent me. He says the Demon recruits have picked a fight with the Angel recruits he canβt get them off each other.β Amara wasnβt overly surprised, it was common for the new recruits to get at each others throats it was hardwired into them to hate each other, it took a long time to break that natural instinct. Amara looked over at him. βGo, Iβll be fine.β She smiled slightly as he disappeared, the demon that now stood before her smirked.
βWhat?β The demon shrugged slightly. βAlastor must be very proud of himself.β She gave the Demon a questioning look and he chuckled. βWell, you are wearing his sweater, covered in his scent. No other male demon will touch you, its a feral thing with us most of us donβt even notice its there but to have a female smelling like you, itβs as good as claiming her. I mean sometimes others will challenge each other in subtle ways, but no one would challenge Alastor, not without a death wish. You should see what its like in hell, demons die over fighting for girls.β He shrugged again and Amara kept the smile off her face and forced a laugh.
βIs it a breeding thing?β She asked genuinely curious now. βI guess so, we are kinda like lions, one male to a pride.β Amara laughed again. βMust be a demon thing. Male angels are nothing like that.β before the demon could speak again an Angel appeared beside Amara.
βYouβre needed in the training hall, one of the angel recruits has been badly hurt.β Amara sighed disappearing with a small flash of light and reappearing in the training room, she quickly moved past everyone and to the injured angel, clearly Alastor hadnβt got a handle on it fast enough and she couldnβt help but feel sorry for the recruits, they would sure get a taste of his wrath.
βWhoβs that angel? Sheβs hot.β One of the demons commented softly to another who chuckled. βYeah Iβd hit that.β Amara usually would have turned around and said something smart but she was more concerned about what was in front of her. βWill he be okay?β The smaller female angel said who was kneeled beside him, she looked to be fairly young in angel terms maybe a few hundred years old. βI tried to heal him myself, but Iβm not strong enough, his injuries are to severe.β Amara placed her hand gently on the Angel a dim light coming from her hands and flowing into him, the wounds quickly started to close and it wasnβt long before he was fully healed. βHe will be fine.β Amara smiled softly, the young angel smiled up at her. βOh! what happened to your cheek?β She gently placed a hand over it the wound closing, Amara smiled that saved her a trip to the infirmary.
Amara got back onto her feet, the same demon that had made the comment before whistled as she did so. Amara didnβt react though just going over to Alastor. βIβm assuming Iβm not needed anymore.β More of a statement then a question. She questioned what the demon before had told her as Alastor hadnβt reacted to that other demon paying any attention to her, though demons in most of their ways still confused her. βIβll see you later.β She commented softly before making her way out of the training room, silently wondering how hard he was going to push them for that incident.
