"I guess so. Didn't see her as the type of girl to be into guys who look like they're ready to turn into a werewolf the second there's a full moon, but to each their own, I guess," he shrugged. He knew that he had no reason to be jealous. He had a girlfriend and was in a very committed and stable relationship with her. Ariana was the best thing that had ever happened to him. Why should he care if she was into someone else? It wasn't like he could give her that right now and he loved Colette enough to want her to be happy. Yeah, that was the spirit. He shouldn't care. He didn't care. At least he hoped he would believe that if he said it in his mind enough times. He was happy, so Colette deserved to be happy too... even if that meant that she was going to be happy with some guy whose hair was probably silkier than her own. "Ari? Um, I'm not sure. Last time I checked, she was catching up with some of the old Buckley girl," he answered honestly. Next to the filet mignon that was already on his plate, he made room for french fries and a piece of roasted corn that was doused in enough butter and salt to have his mouth watering. "Why? Do you miss her? Don't worry, Nia, you're going to have all summer to hang out with your bestie," he teased with an impish smirk. He knew that wasn't the reason why she was asking. It was probably the last reason why she would ever be asking him that, honestly. Owen wasn't sure why Yesenia and Ariana didn't get along. They just never had, it seemed. It stemmed back to their youth, and what Owen had always assumed was just a lack of shared interests was clearly something more. It was something he didn't acknowledge very often, because no one liked knowing that one of their best friends despised their girlfriend, but he wanted to test the waters with the comment now, if only to see where they were at.
"Where's Chris, though? I'm surprised he's not with you." It was partially meant to stir up some more of a reaction in Yesenia, because who didn't notice the sexual tension that had existed between the two for just about forever, but it was just as much genuine curiosity. He hadn't seen Chris in a while, and while at a big party like this, that wasn't really concerning, it was at least unusual for him not to be on the line for food the moment that it started coming out. He had already seen Marisol, who had come through with the good whiskey they had ran out of at the last minute, Ariana was with her friends and Colette was with Jacob Black, so that just left Alexa and Leo. Owen considered asking Nia about them too, but she had a feeling that Lex was with Leo, and that meant that he could relax for now. Leo was a kid who had a good head on his shoulders, and he tended to balance out the reckless rebellion that his own sister loved to tote around. If he was worried about anything when his sister was with Leo, it was that she would somehow convince him to do something stupid or get him into trouble. He knew that if that happened, he would want to kill Lex for his own reasons, but that he'd never hear the end of it from Leo's "mother hen" over here, either.
