And although his hospital experience wasn't especially horrible, he was still more than happy to leave on Monday."It'll be nice to not have some random nurse poking at you all day long, even if it means I have to learn how to change bandages myself." Hinata joked, his hand wrapped around Makoto's as the latter had offered to walk him home as a precaution. An entirely welcome precaution. Once at the building, Hina reluctantly gave in to his lover's demands and took the elevator to the ninth floor, though he made it perfectly clear how much he would have rather taken the long nine flights of stairs. XX
Hinata and Makoto spent that night in each other's arms, not giving a single thought to whether they could be heard through the apartment's walls, and neither was particularly excited about leaving the warmth of the bed when morning came. "You can stay in the nice warm bed, and I'll go make breakfast. Hopefully my milk hasn't expired yet..." Taking his time in kissing Makoto, Hina dressed himself and headed to the bathroom to change his bandages, smiling at the multitude of kiss marks left behind on his skin. Twenty minutes later, the entire apartment smelled of eggs, bacon, and bread. XX
When the two arrived at the usual meeting spot, Hinata shuffled nervously as Chitose approached. He knew how angry she'd been at him for what he'd said to Makoto, and was rightly scared of her. However, contrary to what he'd expected, Chitose simply karate-chopped the top of his head and scolded him for worrying everyone. It seemed she had explained the situation to their peers at school so that no one would be too confused when he and Makko arrived hand-in-hand (which she happily claimed to having predicted). "I'm sorry for worrying you, Chitose-san, and I promise to try not to do it again." XX
Walking the rest of the way to school, the three of them chatted with one another as if nothing had ever separated them, and Hinata was grateful that he had such accepting friends. A couple people stopped to stare at them as they walked into the courtyard, and several more ran over with worried expressions, asking about the 'accident' and how hurt he was and 'if he and Makoto-san were finally dating'. Apparently no one had actually believed that he'd intentionally hurt Makoto, which was a relief in so many ways. However, the crowd dispersed confusedly when a loud voice cut through the air. XX
"You!" In seeing the guy who had injured him, Hinata instinctively shrunk back a bit, his hand tightening on Makoto's. "You cheated! Bringing the police in like that, you got all my friends arrested! The only reason I haven't managed to finish you off is because you've been in the hospital all weekend, otherwise you'd have been dead an hour after you left!" A multitude of the students surrounding the area backed up, looking back and forth between the angry male and Hinata. No one would've expected Makko to make the first move, punching him straight in the face. XX
