"If I may speak Stein, but when I was on my way here to class I injured my hand and I thought I could handle it to, at least, the end of class but my partner here kind of blackmailed me right now. So, if we can be excused to get my hand check at the nurses.” Skyler said, Qi looked to her partner, knowing he was full of crap and not knowing what he was planning, “Lets go Qi!” He stood up, a message suddenly in her head. ‘You can have a smoke on the way there. If you share or give me one.’ This whole soul wavelength thing still kind of unnerved Qi a little bit. She's known about this tactic of communicating between meisters and weapons for a while, but it was still kind of creepy to her to suddenly have her partner in her head.
As they passed the new students, Qi felt Lord Death's son's eyes flick between her and her meister, as if he were sizing them up, but Qi's own eyes were locked with his weapon's. He was a scrawny boy looking worn beyond his years. Qi understood that, after all those who live on the streets tend to not play well with others, life and death included. Though there was something in his eyes that Qi didn't really like, as if he was more than just sizing her up, as if he were researching her soul. But weapon's couldn't do that right?
Qi picked up her pace slightly, letting her eyes drop away from the scrawny boy's. Once they were outside the classroom, Qi reached for a cigarette. It still was something allowed for students to do in the hallway, but after seeing that weapon scrutinize her, she was a bit shaken and needed something to calm her nerves down.
"So what did you have in mind to do?" Qi asked her meister, matching his pace as they walked on.
