Summary - Crowned Prince of Dendon, and the Captain of the Guard. Darius is a young man who is often called the paragon of what a true man should be, ought to be, and can be. He is one who prefers to get his feelings and thoughts through action, not words, but is always willing to take a diplomatic approach to situations if there is such a possibility.

Currently Feeling - Intrigued and embarrassed.

Darius expressed little pleasure in hearing about the misfortune of others. Of the candidates, five had fallen out. Despite being knowledgeable about the game, he was not allowed to give them special treatment, either. Those who had failed were treated like the criminals they truly were, and so Darius had brought justice to them, be it in the form of imprisonment or execution. But those who participated knew exactly what they were getting into and so fault lies simply upon them.

He hated the entire thought of this game, however. Murder was never really excusable. To steal the life away from someone was just about the worse crime that he could think of, and here the King was, encouraging it. Why did the King even want these assassins? It was likely for something cruel and wicked. The ambition of his father was great, but the goal was horrendous. Evil, even. How could he be born from such a tainted bloodline? It would be an understatement to say that Darius loathed the man his father was, but it was not as though he had the power to do anything about it. His father had the support of most of his people due to just how well he was when expanding their territory, especially after he annihilated the only kingdom standing in their way. Darius might as well be alone if he were to attempt to go up against the King. So, he settled for doing what he could for the people right in front of him. Perhaps when he could inherit the throne, he could make things right, but for now, this was the best he could do.

Except that even now, he was turning the other way when lives were in danger. Innocent, unjustified murders were allowed to take place and he knew it, but could do nothing without upsetting his father which was tantamount to suicide. It sickened him so, but at the very least, he would personally take in those who made the mistake of being caught or foiled.

Perhaps he enjoyed the misfortune of those who were able to be considered "evil".

Of those wretched assassins, one particularly stood out to him. The singular female assassin, and the one he was betting to "win" this competition. Myra Greyson, a rather famous assassin as of late. To get imprisoned in the Blackdale Salt Mines was quite the feat for a criminal, almost an honor if it weren't a prison for the unjust. Most of the other "assassins" were people he had never even heard of, but this girl... she was quite infamous. And, like any assassin: deadly. He always had his eye on her and refused to let his guard down around the woman, especially when they were together. But she also intrigued him. He did not support her actions or "occupation", but Darius found himself wondering how a woman seemed to be the best bet for this tournament.

The time for thought had ended, however. Darius stood before the entrance to the room of said assassin. This was not the first time he had been here, nor would it be the last. He was naturally attracted to the most interesting of the bunch, after all. He knocked on the door before entering.

"Prince Darius, don't you have guards to control?" she asked. He was still in uniform so it was to be expected, but as he would likely be required for some simple task or another, changing was simply a bother. He might have been a bit naughty and dumped some of his smaller duties on a guard to come here, but it wasn't like it was anything immediately important.

"The guards of the city aren't so inept that they need my eye on them every waking moment. They shall be fine." he replied, entering the room and closing the door behind him.

"You shouldn't be in here. I say that every time you come."

He found it funny. Funny that someone who was perfectly capable of murdering a big number of people was able to speak so calmly, so normally. This woman looked gorgeous, almost like a princess, was an assassin. His initial disbelief had since faded away, but it was always odd to see her talk instead of killing. It made him realize that even murderers were human too.

"I'm well aware of that. But there's no real harm in checking on you, is there? Well, it is not as if you're unique -- I visit the rest that remain, but I do admit I find myself in your chambers a lot more often than anybody else." he felt a bit embarrassed admitting that but continued. "It's probably because you seem to be the most dangerous. You may consider that a compliment to your ability, if you so wish."
