However when she spoke she gave of no other indication of nerves. He returned her incline of head and listened as she listed her abilities and what she hoped to do for him. When she finally introduced herself as Red Star and let her long auburn hair flow down her shoulders he lifted a small brow but didn't make any other motions. She bowed and said her final statement. He was silent for a moment and then stood. At 6.2 he towered over the 5.3 Navigator in front of him. He reached out a calloused hand and with a very somber face he spoke.
"Red Star, This journey I wish to take is a treacherous one; However I feel that a fine navigator like yourself would make a fine addition to my crew." He shook her hand with a firm shake and then reached into his pocked and pulled out his sack of coins. He counted out 30 gold and placed metal in her hands. "Your welcome pay, more is sure to come if you steer us right." He promised her, As he was speaking another woman appeared next to Red Star and he let his gaze rest upon her.
Malcom, unlike any other man was not surprised to see another woman. His mother had been a fine sailor and had taught him everything he knew. It was his personal experience that women often made better sailors then men. And so he studied the woman with the brown hair. She was also small, and he felt like a giant next to the two women. She was rather gentle looking and he hoped that she was not as frail as her body looked. When she spoke there were a few hesitations but he could tell she was determined. She had a sultry voice and he wondered if she knew that most seafaring men would likely do anything to hear a tale from her. She wished to be the cook for his ship and he tried his best not to look amused as she puffed out her chest and stood tall.
Both the women had a spark that he liked in a person. It was clear determination was a trait they both shared and he needed that in his crew members. He moved his hand out and clasped her hand as well with a firm welcoming handshake.
"Welcome aboard Doe, I look forward to having you aboard." He let go of her hand and went to count out her welcome fee as well and then gestured to Red Star. "Doe this is Red Star, she will be navigating us on this journey... Come let us sit and we can discuss as well as wait for more members." Malcom sincerely hoped there would be more, though he was grateful that even two had considered joining him on his venture.
He pulled up two chairs and gestured for the owner to bring them two ales. He sat once the women were seated and then offered them both his first smile. "What brings you to my crew? He asked the both of them.
