"No, Amaro hasn't shown up yet. He will soon though, I imagine. Please, take a seat." Gabriela replied, nodding at her partner. After two or three minutes of her own arrival, their handler and supervisor showed up.

Miguel Amaro was an older looking Hispanic man, perhaps in his mid to late forties. He was dressed rather professional, wearing a suit and tie, and the man carried a brief-case at his side. If they didn't know any better, Gabriela and Natalie might suspect he was just some passing businessman, perhaps someone from Wall Street who was out for a quick breakfast. Of course, Special Operations Major Miguel Amaro was much more than that.

Amaro nodded briefly at the two women, taking a seat at their table. "Good morning, Inspectors. My apologizes for calling you so early, but...this case quite suddenly came to our attention."

He paused, then without much preamble, he launched straight into their mission. Which wasn't unusual for him; while they did not see Amaro much outside of their case briefings and debriefings, from what Gabriela could tell about his personality, he seemed to be a man most comfortable getting straight to business. In essence, he was all work and no play.

"At around three AM this morning, a man named Daniel Parker was rushed into the emergency room of Mercy General Hospital complaining of chest pains and shortness of breath. At four AM, his condition worsened and his doctors determined that he was suffering from massive organ failures. At five AM, he slipped into a sudden catatonic state, and his body further deteriorated. And by six AM, he was dead. All brain activity ceased, and his heart stopped beating shortly thereafter. I trust you two can discern the most probable cause of his sudden death?" Amaro inquired, giving them both an inquisitive stare.

Gabriela gave a nod, taking in the information easily enough. She'd been at the job long enough to tell that, more likely than not, this Daniel Parker had had the misfortune of sleeping with a Succubi. For reasons that Slayer Society scientists and researchers had yet to fully discern, men and women who slept with Succubi usually died within the next twenty four hours. Their bodies breaking down around them almost, as their physical health worsened and worsened, until they ultimately expired. And the symptoms that Parker seemed to display matched the Succubus calling card perfectly.

"Our informant in the hospital has done his best to supply us with more information about this Daniel Parker, and the circumstances of his death. It's your duty to continue on from here, however." Amaro proclaimed. A moment later, he placed his briefcase on the table, and opened it up. He picked out two manila folders, and handed one each to the Inspectors.

As both women started glancing through the files, their case supervisor elaborated: "That is everything we've collected about this Daniel Parker, in the hours since we learned of him. Apparently he's going through a messy divorce, though we doubt the wife has anything to do with his death, unless she's suddenly been turned into a Succubus. Which...is a possibility, but an unlikely one. According to our research, Daniel was known to sleep around...in fact, that fact seems to be the main reason behind his impending divorce. Our working theory is that a Succubus seduced him while he was out looking for women to...have liaisons with, but we can't say that for certain. That is where you two come in. When you are both ready, make your way over to the hospital and examine his body. Perhaps the coroner can give you some usual information, before you expand the investigation to his whereabouts in the last twenty four hours."

Gabriela gave a curt nod, accepting the information readily enough. Yeah, checking out his body would be a good place to start. Make sure he did, indeed, die from relations with a Succubus. It was rare, but there were some natural diseases that could mimic the effects of whatever sexually transmitted disease Succubi left on humans. Still...this wouldn't be an easy case. New York City was a big place, and this Succubus could disappear into the wind. Not all cases ended in success, after all. Indeed, Gabriela couldn't count how many cold cases she'd ended up with during the course of her career in the Slayer Society...

But, it was their obligation to look into the case though, even if they didn't find the girl (or guy) who did this. If there was any chance they could find the Succubus who did this, and take them out, then they'd need to investigate this case. Besides, they did receive a bonus whenever their investigations resulted in the successful take-out of a Supernatural entity.

"Any questions, Inspectors?" Amaro then inquired, looking over at the two women curiously.
