Lilith nodded eagerly at Roxy before following her and Luca to someplace that seemed totally not spooky. Vincent trailed behind begrudgingly as Lilith's grip on him was akin to steel. Her reason for him accompanying her was not because she enjoyed his company, but because she thought that perhaps Roxy would need a sacrifice.
Even if she didn’t however, he could always be used as a human shield.
“I, uh, don’t feel good about this,” he said loudly as Roxy began to describe the demon. “M-maybe we can help Luca some other way?” He knew his suggestion would be lost on everyone, but it was worth a try. He sighed and only trembled slightly as he watched her blood begin to trickle into the bowl.
God, he was going to be sick.
“Oh, shut up Vincent,” Lilith commented. Her grip on his forearm hadn't loosened and he was mostly sure the firmness wasn’t from fear but rather anticipation. “We might actually see someone's soul get devoured. Isn’t that like so cool?” She meant for there to be an added, ‘and it’s not even my fault!’ but it was lost in translation.
As Luca began to scream about his pants though, Lilith could only yell back, “Just kidding, he pissed himself on the walk over! Come if you’d like to see it though!” His misfortune was her amusement. Though it would be that way for everyone, forever.
However upon remembering that blood needed to be donated Lilith quickly volunteered Vincent’s hand. Taking a switch blade from her pant pocket (it was a safety precaution against her enemies) she then cut his hand and let a few drops drip into the bowl. Wiping the blade against his shirt she then cut her own hand with delicate motions.
“I don’t think you should have used the same blade on your hand . . . what if you get ill or something.” Tentatively he reached out toward Roxy in hopes she would receive his intended gesture for the bandages.
Lilith could only shrug, “So? I can just pay for it to be treated. I’m not a plebeian like you.” Her eyes rolled dramatically before her attention was once again on Roxy and Luca. “Hurry up! We only have like fifteen more minutes.” Wow, time sure seemed to fly when you’re having fun!
