It seemed like the two sisters were at a bit of an impasse, one being fine with extreme methods to win, the other wanting to retain the moral high ground. Kitra could sort of see things from both ways although history showed that she was also always willing to do the drastic thing if it meant victory. it was obvious to anyone here why Mizuki was so feared, why she was famed to stray the line between angel and fallen so dangerously. "So you'd rather I just not get the info and we let the kid die and let them keep torturing Pops?" Mizuki snapped defensively. "Being better than them means nothing if they keep controlling us, I did what we had to do." And so they were digging, just Mizuki and Kitra digging to the beat of Celeste's encouragement and support, once again forced on the sidelines. "Don't worry, you're helping just by being here." Kitra assured her lover as Mizuki rolled her eyes.
And so they came here, Ryker was showing them where to go, but he made an offer, to escape with Celeste so that she wouldn't have to be in danger, so that she wouldn't hold them back and make it harder to fight. But Celeste refused it, she wanted to be there, she wanted to help save her father, she wanted to help put the family back together as best as they could. "Okay, but just remember. You can't kill them, not unless you want to become Fallen. I know, it's tempting, but-" Kitra grinned then, because there was a very delicious loophole about all of this. "We'll give them trials, but Morgana's ass is mine." Ryker stared for a few seconds, that didn't seem like Princess Orana at all. And then his eyes narrowed, he looked between Orana and Celeste and then his eyes widened. "Kitra, of course it's you, isn't it? How did I not realize this sooner?"
And so they descended down into the secret passage, the one hidden by the statue of the old King Ezreal. Kitra had her electrified chain out, Mizuki's bow was drawn and a fire arrow was lit to give them light, and Celeste was there as well, they were all ready. "Be ready for anything." Mizuki said quietly as they reached a door. It was locked with a combination and Mizuki managed to pick the lock using shards of an arrow shaft, forcing it open to see a laboratory sort of thing, all clean and sterile and pristine with little areas where you could swear you knew blood was once there, but it was cleaned up. And then right in the middle of the room, suspended in a tube, with his limbs and wings removed, was King Zadkiel, looking so shriveled, so small.
"What are you three doing here?" A familiar angel's voice went through and she was aiming a gun right at the King trapped in glass and sleep. "This is a private area, you shouldn't just barge in, you know." Morgana, the Council Head, the one with all the authority and power in Heaven just about now. "That's my father. You'll give him back now." The divine star hissed viciously and then she paused. "Wait... your wings? What's-" Morgana chuckled then. "That's right, I became a Fallen." She had been harvesting Zadkiel's feathers to put on her wings which she plucked all the feathers out of in order to keep up the masquerade. "An angel tried to assassinate me, so I killed him first." She shrugged, as if it didn't matter at all. "I suggest you leave and not say a word if you want your dear father to live." What were they going to do? What could they do?
Perhaps the shadow opening up behind Morgana was the answer to everything.
