It was lonely here, walking these halls with no one to talk to but her fan club. They weren't much help either, seeming to just look for ways to please her. Celeste didn't want that though, she wanted intelligent conversation. Her fan club seemed eager to praise everything she did, approving of her every decision from what dress she decided to wear to the plans for the new Onyx Citadel. Of course Celeste was having building materials brought from Heaven since they were using as much as they could salvage of the old Onyx Citadel to rebuild the population. While the plans weren't finalized, they had been drafted and boy were they different. Instead of cold stone walls, there would be warm colored ones with large windows to allow natural light into the space. The dungeon had been changed as well, seeing as how it was still a rudimentary system with iron walls and chains that hung from the rafters.
Celeste was in one such meeting when Raphael came running and literally grabbed Celeste, putting her on his back and bolting. "What is it? What's wrong?" Celeste asked in alarm, papers flying from her hands. "Kitra!" Raphael panted and Celeste went stiff. Did something happen? Had she taken another turn for the worse? Her heart leaped into her throat, Celeste was already so nervous she thought she might faint. By the time they reached the med ward she was on the verge of tears. "Come on, inside," Raphael deposited Celeste back onto her feet, both angels stumbling forward. At first Celeste saw no change, Kitra was still in bed, Lilim blocking her view. Nervously she stepped forward, seeing Kitra's eyes wide and looking around. "Kitra!" It was as though someone had turned on the waterworks. Tears sprung to her eyes, choking her up. Celeste knelt on her knees beside the bed so that Kitra could trace her finger along her jawline.
She knew she wasn't supposed to, but Celeste couldn't help but clamber into bed beside her."Don't apologize, it's okay, you did your best. You fought your hardest," Celeste curled up into her lover's side. "I missed you so much, every breath was painful without you by my side." She leaned up to kiss Kitra's collarbone, taking in her scent and the sharp twang of lemon floor cleaner. It seemed it didn't matter what Kingdom you were in, the lemon scented floor cleaner was the standard of hospitals and med wards everywhere. Raphael reached over to hand Kitra something and Kitra in her confusion, popped the question. Celeste blinked, taken aback. Was she serious? Did she mean it?
"Yes!" Celeste squealed, throwing her arms around Kitra's neck, her lips finding her's. "That's not what the rings are for-" but Gabriel's words were lost. Lilim didn't want anyone to spoil the moment either, lending a hand in quieting both boys. "I love you," Celeste whispered, her words meant only for Kitra's ears.
