Healing was going to be a slow, painful process, but over time, it happened to everyone. Mizuki found herself unable to help sneaking little smiles around just playing with Ally, or watching anime with Yui. Maybe it was sad, maybe it was wrong, a part of the girl wanted to stay miserable because it wasn't right for her to be happy when Haru had to be suffering all alone forever. But another part of her knew that Haruka didn't even want to be free, she just wanted to rot forever as atonement for the billions of deaths that she caused, they were still trying to identify the bodies and determine who was missing and who was dead, and so many families were there, hoping and praying that their loved one only turned out to have been missing and that they would one day come back to them.
Was it really okay to smile and find happiness, despite all of this? It was a hard question to think about. "Okay, I've had it, of being stuck in this house." Ally decided one morning to Yui and Mizuki after lunch had been made for them "It's too big, and there's only three of us! So let's go actually do something today!" And so they tried many things to occupy themselves, they took a helicopter out to have an ocean tour by the sea, with just the three of them, taking pictures to send to all their friends who couldn't be there with them. They even went scuba diving right after, although one of the three seemingly didn't need gear and the other couldn't because she was stuck to her wheelchair.
And it was after these excursions that Mizuki decided that, well, happiness was still possible, and that if anything, Yui deserved to be just that. Happy. And if a part of that happiness included Mizu, the sick girl wouldn't be selfish and just die and leave everyone behind. So on the helicopter ride back to the city, Mizuki decided she might as well announce it. "Can we make a stop at the hospital." She asked, almost timidly because of how adamantly against it she had been just days ago. "I think Leo's available, he can get the blood samples for the 100% efficient light, rather than K's 40%, which was just about as good as she could make it.
Ally stared for a moment, disbelieving, and then a very slow grin started to grow. She glomped Mizu then, almost making her headset fall off. "Thank you!" The rich girl cried. "I tried so hard, all these events, to try and convince you to live. Thank you, Mizu, Yui and I, we'll always need you. And things will get better, life will improve! I want us to be able to have a reason to smile each and every day." Mizu decided, hey, it was probably okay to cry too, and so she pulled Yui into the hug as Ally informed the pilot to take them to the hospital to get Mizuki off of that wheelchair once and for all.
