And so a new trial was called, one to recognize the existence of the Anti-light faction, those that despised light bearers and wanted justice for everything that happened when Raven was in control. There wasn't a jury or anything this time, it was just a debate between the three people with the mots authority in the world, the three judges of the International Court. Mizuki was one, Annette Kirouac was the other, and Byron Strauss was the third, and the eldest as well. After Ally and Yui were nearly assassinated in a way eerily similar to how Eric and Kimiko passed, it was obvious something needed to be done. And Mizuki had a very good idea on exactly what needed to happen. "The Court has been called to discuss this new threat to the peace, to address the fact that the people needed justice and we failed to deliver." Strauss cleared his throat after speaking, gazing at the cameras with a serious eye.
"First of all, this is unacceptable. Yui's innocent, all the light bearers walking free are innocent, they were used against their control." Mizuki stated clearly, trying to keep her face as stony as possible as she spoke to the camera, the broadcast being live all around the world, with live translators translating it into their various languages. "Haruka Shoku's power is to go into your head, to change your thoughts to suit her bidding, and even if you tried to fight back she would make it so that you don't even remember how to fight back. We tested it here with the Jury, they all started dancing and stripping like morons." This needed to be made clear. "If it was your child that was kidnapped and then implanted with Haruka's seeds, would that child be guilty for the things they do? Use your damn brains."
K was the one in the middle then. "If the light bearers are innocent, then that means they won't use their powers against us." K said. "After all, Mizuki hasn't turned against us, and she's a light bearer." She paused to think, but Strauss interrupted. "If you're considering removing the inhibitors, you're making a mistake. What if, for example, Aria Matsuri wants revenge? We need to protect our non light bearers because they can't protect themselves, they don't have powers." Mizuki was fuming. "But without powers, who will protect the innocent light bearers?" She asked in a cold, demanding voice. "Unless you condone unprovoked violence, and needless revenge and chaos? Is that your idea of peace, Justice Strauss?"
But even with all of this, Mizu knew the antilights wouldn't be pacified. But there was one way to accomplish this, one very good way that was the very opening Mizuki needed. "I suggest that we execute Haruka Shoku." There was a pause but then Strauss nodded in agreement. "If her death stops the rioting, then one life will be traded to put an end to it." K shrugged then. "And I'll modify all the Inhibitors so that it releases the light bearers temporarily when it detects danger. So any humans that want to attack will risk death by self defense." And so the court meeting, aired live, was adjourned.
