Alice was asleep, Alice was asleep and it was taking a long, long time now for anything to be made of it. Why was Alice still asleep? "It's safe now, Ophie saved you, so wake up and come out, come back." The spider implored, feeling the anxiety and the spiraling starting to cycle up in her head. But they were safe, they had to be safe because the web coccoon that blocked off the rest of the world, each strand spiked with the paralytic agent, just in case someone tried to cut through it thinking they were oh so clever, cleverer than these warmachine monsters. "You can stop hiding in sleepland now, Alice." Ophie stabbed into her arm, bright red blood flowed from the wound and she waved it enticingly at the bat who didn't respond at all.
This was disturbing in many ways. Ophie was confused - the web cocoon was protecting her, so why was Alice still scared? "No one can hurt Alice now." The spider muttered under her breath, feeling more and more hopeless as time marched on. She dripped some blood into Alice's mouth, because before she said the blood helped her or something, so the spider was always happy, but nothing, nothing at all, and now panic was starting to settle in. What, exactly, did the humans to do her? This shield would protect them from anything on the outside, but the humans had already put something inside, hadn't they?
Some was dreadfully wrong here. It was poison, it had to be poison. So the spider made her way back to the wall of webs, poking her head through, since she was immune to her own poison, obviously. "What did you humans do?" She hissed, full of hatred and disgust for these beings that always tried to act like God. "Why did you poison Alice, she still isn't waking!" A nurse said something about it just being a sleep agent and that she would be fine but Ophie wasn't listening, she refused to listen. "Stop lying! Shit-eating liars!" The spider hissed shrilly. "Wake her up now before I kill you all!"
Ophie needed Alice, she couldn't function without her, so if the humans took her away, Ophie would throw away any sense of self preservation and do whatever it took, even if it meant endangering herself, to take Alice back. Nothing else mattered anymore.
