Grinning to himself the boy quickly hopped off and hurried round to meet the girl, as if presenting himself. ”It’s no biggie,” he assured her casually, ”if you wanna know, I’m a shapeshifter, primarily... if not only dogs.” Chou explained as simply as he could, flashing a fanged smile. Honestly it wasn’t that big of a deal to him, half the time he felt like the most common thing at the bar compared to others. ”You think your book would have me in it? I’ve never been in a book before! I feel kinda’ important now, heh!”
Molyneux just scoffed, pretending to be absorbed in his papers. Chou, however, seemed to get an idea. ”I bet I could probably find the boss’s species in that book of yours,” he declared rather confidently, knowing all the while the half-demon in question was glaring daggers at him, if only secretly. ”Why not make it interesting?” Chou grinned more, enough that Molyneux’s interest was tugged away from his paperwork as the boy challenged, ”If I can find your species, might I get a one-time raise on my wage?”
The boss clearly appeared to be musing the proposal over, instead of out-right dismissing it. But the whole thing seemed completely daft to the half-demon. ”If either of you did, I’d give the whole bar a raise.” He remarked doubtfully, but honestly.
Chou beamed a smile at the horned girl. ”Oh, how ‘bout it Eris? Me and you, hm?”
