Yaya's eyes shot up for the fifth time in an hour in annoyance at the guy sitting in the table closest to her in the coffee shop. Why he had to type so hard she'd never know. Though she did know that she regretted arriving at the coffee shop to meet Archie early. She glanced at her phone again one more time. She had sent a text to Ben earlier that read: Meeting with Archie now.. any chance I'll be adding a new stuffed animal to my collection tonight? She had hoped it sounded cheeky and that it was a nice reminder that she still planned to meet up with him at the carnival. She also sent a text to Naomi that read: Is Queen Audrey still pissed? I slept at my dad's last night. She stood up to get a refill and smoothed her dress, which had risen a bit, and tried to ignore the stares of the freshmen study group that were as aware of how tight her dress was as she walked up to the front counter. She ordered a strawberry banana smoothie, which seemed appropriate considering she already had two coffees, and waited patiently at the counter.
"Uhh Strawberry Banana smoothie for Ayana?" She rolled her eyes and reached for the coffee, "Yaya. That's mine." He grinned lopsidedly at her, which would have been cute if it wasn't for the fact that his eyes kept glancing down at her chest. She fluffed her hair from the back to the front to cover her nipples that were poking through the thin dress. "Yeah Yaya, I've heard about you they say you're cold as ice but hot as fire, I hear you're single now." She shrugged and turned to leave but he rounded the counter and blocked her path, "C'mon don't be like that, why don't you give me a chance?" She resisted the urge to roll her eyes, this is exactly what she didn't need today.
It was at that moment Archie came through the coffee shop doors, hair vaguely dishevelled from the restless nights sleep he had. Starting out the night with a hardcore study session, which was then cut short by a 'smoke break' that finally turned into heading out with a couple Alphas and some tolerable Sigmas to hit up a local bar.
Getting maybe four hours sleep and then waking up with a random Zeta in his bed meant Archie had barely rested for the past couple days. Which made meeting Yaya at a coffee shop even more favourable. Making a beeline for the counter, Archie waits to order a coffee, zoning out it takes the Beta a moment before he realises what the hold up is.
Yaya was stood just a few people in front of him, clearly being hit on by the sleazy looking barista. Pushing past a few of the other customers, Archie walks until he is standing beside Yaya and protectively throws an arm over the girls shoulder. "Hey babe." He winks, trying to help her get out of this awkward situation. Archie was currently playing nice with the guy - giving him a chance to back off - however if this attempt didn't work, Archie had no qualms with making sure he got the message. The Guys & Girls event was testament enough that Archie could certainly hold his own.
Yaya subconsciously leaned into Archie, she wanted to be independent and say she didn't need him, but she was happy for the assist. Especially when the barista scowled and looked Archie up and down, probably to see if he could take him, he couldn't. He grumbled loudly about her not even being that hot and went on to assist the next customer.
As they made their way back to the table she noticed how tired Archie looked and casually grazed the dark circle forming under his left eye with her index finger, "Someone isn't getting enough sleep." she mused before leaning back and sipping her smoothie.
Smiling softly as Yaya touched his cheek, Archie removes his arm from her shoulder as the pair take a seat. "Well you know, being an Alpha is a face-paced life." He responds, smile contorting into more of a familiar smirk. Grateful for the coffee that now sat in front of him, Archie reaches out and takes a sip, burning his lip a little in the process but ignoring it as he was too engrossed in getting the caffeine inside of him.
Only looking away from Yaya to see a text he had received last night from Maddox (which Archie had been too drunk to read at the time) the smirk quickly falls off his face as he reads the contents. Maddox's father had taken him away. To say Archie was concerned would be an understatement. What had happened? Making a mental note to text him back, and perhaps ask Cyrus if he knew anything, Archie turns his gaze back to Yaya once more.
"Sorry, the drama just never stops," He sighs, licking his lips ever so slightly in the spot which he had just burnt. Deciding that Yaya didn't need to get herself into any more of his messes, Archie changes the subject so that she does not have time to ask what he means. "How's Ben?" Archie asks, half hoping Yaya would say that they broke up and yet unsure why he wanted that.
Yaya sighed,"Things were great last night. We decided that we aren't going to get back together just yet but there's hope," Archie's response is purely a small smirk toward Yaya before he jumps up from his seat, offering the girl his right hand whilst the left still holds a strong grip on his coffee cup. "Well seeing as you aren't back with him, let's go enjoy ourselves tonight."
