|| Memories of You || Yumi Kawamura ||
In this strange space between the worldslife and death, a seemingly impossible meeting of the souls was taking place. It was impossible to describe this setting, so ephemeral and ever changing and yet as still and tranquil as an unmoving sea. Corona's mind was blown just looking at it... but she was glad at the very least to be out of the past. She didn't want to remember what it was like to have her innocence stolen away, she would rather just wait passively until the magic eventually ran out. There was a little bit left but soon it would all be gone, and that would come as a breath of relief. But sadly, her peace was broken by two souls seemingly having come to visit, two souls that really had no business hanging out in her shell.
"Hey there!" Nami waved and Corona glared because this didn't make the slightest lick of sense. "Okay, hang on, your Mental Enhancement was to see through peoples masks! It has nothing to do with talking to dead people!" And then Corona intensified a hot stare at Mother, who was smiling serenely at her, slightly farther back than Nami who found it appropriate to more or less glomp her. "I brought her here, otherwise your mind would remain trapped in the nightmares." Mother said in that way of hers that just pissed Corona off even more. "You're supposed to be dead! Just go and be a skeleton already!" She wanted to be left alone, it would have been better to be allowed to just die as a shell and never come back to life. And yet both Nami and the Mother seemed to completely expect this reaction from her.
Nami sidled up right next to Corona, giving her a big wide grin. "I'm dying!" She said as if it was some big exciting event. Corona just gave the flirtatious mermaid a withering stare, what did this have to do with her anyways? "I gave away too much magic and there's not enough for me... not until you guys come back. So, uh, wanna update me on what's going on?" Corona glowered heavily at this happy-go-lucky idiot, she didn't know anything, nothing at all! "I died, they're coming back, and I don't know anything else, I'm just a friggin shell." Nami's eyes were sparkling though and Corona just wanted to vomit. This was never, ever a good sign, in any circumstance.
The Mother who was very unlike a Mother in every sense was nearly bouncing now. "Because my magic is still in you, I can sense that you still have a chance!" She spin and then twirled, very full of life despite being comatose in the actual physical realm. "Let's see, your heart's secret longing is to be back to normal with Reyna again! That means she holds the key!" Mother explained the process better than Nami could - if Reyna sung a song to her shell as it was thrown into the water at the cove back on Ogygia, the resonance of Corona's subconscious would sync with Reyna's voice and she would be reborn... whether she liked it or not. "It is only possible because of the lingering magic, so if they take too long to return, it'll be too late." Mother finished.
Corona was not happy, not one bit. "I'm not going back, I refuse to come back!" She grinned evilly then, an idea striking her all of a sudden. It was like a fuse had been lit in her brain. "And there's no way for you to tell Reyna, so that's that! She'll never realize there's a way!" But then Nami put her finger on the fuse, putting it out before it could explode. "I'll just let her know when I wake up!" She said with a playful wink that was way too innocuous for how terrible everything was.
