Ogygia was just as mystical this time was it was the first time. When Asther first laid eyes upon the island, she couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and wonder, a new feeling of adventure brewing. Now was the same thing, except it also had the element of a war veteran returning home after a long war. Yes, she never called this place home before, with all of it's strange plants and animals and shrubbery, the mermaid had to admit that a part of her felt at ease here. It was akin to a hand patting her back, congratulating her for working so hard, for setting things right. Was it just her innate nature as a mermaid to feel at peace at Ogygia? Not all things were happy, though. Dory died, an innocent unrelated victim in all of this. Corona was dead, the broken warrior that gave up on life and love. And Ariel, the little child that clung so hard to life because it was all she knew - she too, was gone, the island wouldn't bring her back.
There were two eerily similar mermaids at the end of the lagoon, where the beach opened up. They looked exactly the same barring their wildly differing hair colors, blue and orange. Twins, singers, Asther recognized them, she saw them before. "Sorry it took so long. Brie, Allison, we're back." Shannon gave a pained smile and hugged their welcomers as tightly as she could. The twins fussed over everyone, both of them scanning the group to see who was who and who had come back. "Reyna, you're back! We - we missed you so much, Brie couldn't stop crying and having break downs after you and Corona..." Allison's smile faded as she realized. "Wait, where is Corona, why is she not here?"
Hazuki gave the explanation before anyone else said anything, because they didn't want Reyna to know how she died, only to remember Corona for her strength. It was kinder for Reyna to think she died a hero than to know the real circumstances at play here. "Let's go wake Nami up and then... start the farewells." Shannon said, doing her best to suppress the desire to just break down and cry. Waking Nami up was just returning the magic back to her. She woke up then and cried and hugged Reyna and then made a joke about how great her boobs were. That night, it was time to begin the ceremony, at the cove where they returned the shells of fallen mermaids back to the ocean.
"If I fought back from the beginning, maybe they could have come back." Asther was crying, touching the Mother's elbow for support as everything was set up for the ceremony. Nami was just wearing a faint smile, as if she knew something no one else did. "It's okay, this isn't going to be the ending you think it is." Was all she said on the matter. Nami always had a flare for the dramatic, and she had a plan in mind. "Let's make this a special occasion, different from the usual fanfare!" Nami declared, and then went to Reyna's side. "Rey, I know it's hard, but you were the closest to her. You two always had a special bond. So instead of the usual goodbye song, can you sing a song that's special for you and Corona? And then you can put the shell back into the water?" That was how to release Corona from the shell - it was only possible because of magic left over from a dead Mother, however. Otherwise this would never have been able to happen, a miracle like this.
