It was a very unhappy prospect. Right as she and Reyna were about to be married, Corona awoke, feeling sick and nauseous. She didn't - she didn't understand. In that dream, everything had gone so well, so perfect... and it was so sickening. No, Corona was a monster, she was horrible, and Reyna was just perfect and that was that, it was fact. "Disgusting dream, stop messing with my head." It was hard to really focus on anything, and Corona felt sick and queasy. Was this the end of the line? Was this how she was going to die? Was her magic at the end? Was this when she would finally die? Someone was there, looking at her, it was Mother. "It's not your time yet." She said in that gentle tone and Corona shivered.
"No! Please, please, just let me die! Let it end, I don't want this anymore!" She didn't want to go back to life, she didn't want to return to where everyone else was! She just wanted to go into the void, she just wanted to stop being herself. Mother was smiling at her but it wasn't the kind of smile you'd expect from her. "Reyna had the chance to forget all of her past pain in life, you know." Mother was looking at her ruefully. "And because of you, she was brought kicking and screaming away from her chance of being truly innocent. Isn't the same thing happening to you?" So because Corona was selfish - no, she wasn't going to accept this, she wasn't! "Reyna couldn't be happy like that, she already found happiness with us!" Mother wasn't going to convince her, she might as well just give up! "Well, it's not for me to tell you how Reyna feels, she'll inform you once it's time."
It was like being dragged and torn through a meat grinder all at once. But then there was a light and while others might see it as a miracle, Corona saw it as anything but. Back to the island, the cursed island that was a prison, that she could never escape from, back to life where she would be forced to be face to face with Reyna, the one she least wanted to see ever again. The sensation of being reborn was akin to being torn apart and then painfully stitched back together, bit by bit. "Hey, there's something strange where the shell fell." Nami said with a mysterious grin on her face, and Shannon dove in immediately to pull Corona up from the sea.
"H-" She coughed many, many times trying to catch her breath, giving Reyna a glance and then turning away. No, it was too late - the romance was just a distant dream, it couldn't come true. She was far too twisted for that now. "H-hullo." She was back to her normal runt sized self... it wasn't attractive, it wasn't even pretty, she was a disproportionate mess. But it was her body, the one she was used to, and that mattered more than anything else. "Ogygia..." Her head, there was a mounting pressure and she was exhausted and then her eyes rolled up and Corona passed out right in Shannon's arms.
