|| Stand By Me|| Florence and the Machine ||
Miiko would admit it, she froze up in the face of danger. When the rock came hurstling at them, Miiko could not move. She was stiff with fear until Rose knocked the pinkette out of the way, shoving her into one of the crumbling buildings. The rock blocked their path, lodged between two houses, fire lickings its surface. The temperature rose ten degrees, but considering how cold it was, it was not an uncomfortable warmth. "Y-yeah, I'm fine," Miiko shook her head. "I guess you were right, these aren't very useful. Ugh, but I want them," Miiko reluctantly threw away the boxing gloves in a move that spoke volumes for her selfishness. As much as Miiko wanted them, she had been able to recognize that they were not necessary. "We should get out of here before-" before that happened. Miiko hadn't been able to finish her sentence when they heard them stomping towards them, two Republic soldiers with malicious grins.
While some soldiers joined the Republic Army for what they thought would be the good of the world, there were always bad eggs in the bunch. These two were rotten to the core, having joined to satisfy their boredom and lust for blood. "We-we're not just any civilians!" Miiko squeaked, wondering what to do. She was the boss here, she had to take control! She had to do something! Miiko couldn't just let Rose get hurt because Miiko didn't know what to do. "Rose, we need to get around that burning rock!" Miiko chirped, her heart pattering in her throat at a mile a minute. "Then we have to get to the children's hospital!" Repeating the instructions made Miiko feel at ease, even when facing these two enemies. Miiko's small hands balled into fists, she wished she hadn't tossed away one of the boxing gloves yet, it would have been useful to throw at these soldier.
Rose reacted first, slicing and dicing. Blood flew, it spattered against the snow, dancing like delicate rose petals. Miiko had named Rose correctly. Miiko had seen people die before, she had watched as Stella slaughtered mercilessly on the battle field, but never this close. She backed up against a wall, feeling slightly panicked while Rose so easily struck down those who opposed her. This was a mistake, Miiko wasn't ready, Miiko couldn't do this. When Rose turned, Miiko panicked, clutching her jacket over her heart. "I-I'm fine!" Miiko stood, she had to appear as though she were the one in command. "Come on, we can go around the rock if we go in through this window!" Someone had left the window to their shop open, giving them access to the inside. Miiko crawled through, glad to find the home empty.
Low and behold, it was a medicine shop. Miiko shook her head, as much as she wanted to look around and find medicine for Athena, Miiko needed to focus. "The Children's Hospital should be this way," why Mayor Lindon would be there when his people needed him, Miiko had no idea. "Come on, let's get out of here before the bodies are discovered!" Miiko called out the window, waving to Rose. She pocket stuff as they walked, figuring that she could bring the various colorful vials and herbs to Nino, who would hopefully be able to make sense of some of the chemical components. "Yes, yes, I know stealing is wrong," Miiko spoke before Rose could say anything. "But this stuff is so pretty!" Especially the vials that glittered.
