"Sorry, sorry. I forgot I was talking to the Kylie Jenner. King Kylie," EJ backtracked playfully, but he was only partly joking because he was close enough with Kylie that oftentimes, it was surreal to think of who she was in the public light. His family made a name for themselves too, and in some cases, that came from scandals that weren't the best, but EJ felt like who he was to the public was true to who he was in "real" life. Even he would laugh out loud if Kylie tried to claim the same about herself. She knew how to work social media, he would never deny her of that right, but who she was there and to the media seemed so superficial compared to the girl he knew. It was like she was a completely different person, so "forgetting" sometimes wasn't something that you could really blame him for.
"Let that be the first and last time you forget it, and I'll forgive you," she teased as they reached the veranda where the others sat. No matter how immaturely bitter she wanted to be about some things, no bad mood of hers could negate how utterly gorgeous this place was. She had been to Punta Mita before, so it wasn't too much of a shock for her, but it didn't take away from how much of a paradise it truly was.
"Sure, anything for my second favorite Jenner." EJ's attention shifted from Kylie as he heard Chris speaking, followed by Kendall making a comment about someone not needing hard liquor. Given the setting, it was easy to assume she was referring to Kylie, especially when Chris' words were taken into account, but he couldn't be positive. Nonetheless, there was never a time that EJ didn't let his opinion be known, so as he approached the table with his signature grin, he had to say, "I don't know what we're talking about, but I heard something about Kylie and EJ going hard, so I'm gonna agree with you, Chris. Sounds like a solid plan." As he found an empty seat at one of the heads of the table (since his father wasn't here, he decided that that seat was rightfully his), he couldn't help but to add, "Would've been easier for me to go hard if Nika hadn't stolen the best seat at the table, but I'll ignore that this one time, sis," looking to Nicki, before winking at Kendall and Grace.
With Chris sitting across from Nicki, and Scott next to him, and therefore across from Kendall, Kylie took it upon herself to take the other seat available next to Chris, and across from Grace. Even though EJ had only worsened her mood by acting like he, too, was enthralled by everyone but her, she couldn't complain about the seating arrangements. She got to sit next to Chris, and across from Grace, so at least she wouldn't be weighed down by the bad vibes that she liked to claim her brother and Nicki tended to carry around with them, or by any disapproving looks that Kendall was bound to send her way for just about any move that she made. She had barely been paying attention to Chris standing up for her and EJ (though she would have appreciated his challenge to Nicki about being outdone, and she definitely would have risen to that challenge too), she did catch Kendall's brief comment to the server who had left without placing a shot glass down at her seat. "You don't need to be drinking hard liquor either then, Kendall," she countered, clearly annoyed as she set her plate down and took her seat. "You weigh twenty pounds less than me and are the biggest light weight in this room, so don't even go there."
