The transition that came with moving to Bellingstone still had not settled down for Ember. Out of her family, she was the one who was probably the most resistant to the change, actually, even if she didn't dislike the town as a whole. She wasn't used to living around other supernatural beings. She had met other supernaturals before, but never had she and her siblings settled down in a town with them. They were more used to living on the outskirts of human towns, sometimes in isolated and minutely-populated places where the nearest neighboring house couldn't be seen for miles, or sometimes in more crowded areas where their arrival and departure wasn't given much thought. Small towns like this, where everyone seemed to know everyone, wasn't their thing, but Ember wasn't opposed to it. If anything, that was the one thing that her siblings were more fearful of, but when it came to her, she liked the socialization. What she disliked were the rules. Never before had she been expected to feed off of animal blood. The thought alone, she would tell you, was enough to make her sick to her stomach. That was why it wasn't a rule that she followed. It wasn't the only rule that she broke frequently, but it was probably the most serious. In her defense, she knew better than to feed off of any humans in Bellingstone, or even in the surrounding communities. She felt like it was dramatic, but most of the time, TJ insisted on driving them out of the state once a week just so that Ember could have her way and feed off of humans. By the end of the week, she was usually itching for more, but she never gave in to her siblings' pleas for her to just settle for animal blood while they were in Bellingstone. It was stubborn, illegal and immoral, especially when they were living in a town founded off of the idea that multiple species could co-exist without one killing the other, but Ember never felt remorse for her human victims. It was just something that had to happen, and though she personally didn't feel the need to keep it a secret, she did, just out of respect for her siblings who she knew weren't interested in having to move again so soon.

She always hunted at night, and only a couple of hours ago did she, Theo and Lucy arrive back home from their weekly out of state trip for her. Since sleep wasn't a necessity for vampires, all that Ember felt when they got home was re-energized. Walking into Felix's diner still meant that her eyes immediately fell upon the humans that were sitting there, some in booths and others at tables or at the counter, as it was impossible for her to ignore how sweet they smelled even when she wasn't hungry, but it was nothing she needed to act upon. "Good morning my little darlings," she sang in a voice that was overly sweet as she helped herself to a seat at the counter. Axel and Sydney were there, two people who Ember interacted with regularly on Saturdays. It was sort of a ritual for her to come to the diner for breakfast, and sometimes other meals throughout the week. Her brother refused to frequent the place because of his own personal issues with werewolves as a whole, so in part, the habit began simply as a way to annoy him. It had grown though once she realized that there was amusement in bothering the employees of the diner, and since Ember often found herself bored, getting under people's skin had become her favorite pastime. "I would like a menu and for you to let me know what you have that's gluten, GMO, sugar and fat free," she stated happily, knowing good and well that the werewolves across the counter knew that human food wasn't necessarily or beneficial at all to vampires. She was only pretending that she was on some strict diet, of course, but making their lives a bit harder only made hers more fun.
