It was an adjustment that had taken some time to get used to, but TJ finally felt relaxed in life. He was settling into normalcy and security that no town other than Bellingstone could offer to him. His only concern, really, was Ember, which was why he often made Lucy deal with their sister out of fear that he would get too frustrated and snappy with the youngest of their group. Ember was the epitome of trouble, but in the most endearing way... at least to TJ, who knew her well enough to knew that she wasn't as evil as she liked to act. She was a pain in the ass, but nothing more serious than that. Many of the others in the town didn't know that though, and that was why she often became a headache for them and him when he had to hear about the trouble that she was causing others. It would have been easy to deal with that alone, if he wasn't worrying at the same time that somehow, their issues with her would lead to someone finding out that she was still feeding off of human blood. It wasn't allowed in Bellingstone, for obvious reasons, since vampires were supposed to be able to co-exist with humans, but unlike himself and Lucy, Ember refused to even attempt to sustain herself off of animal blood. Maybe TJ was wrong for constantly giving in and taking her hundreds of miles away from Bellingstone every week to feed off of humans, so that no one from Bellingstone would trace them to the frowned upon activity, but she was the baby of the family, no matter how old she truly was. He would always give in to her, whether he admitted it or not.
"She's been gone for fifteen minutes, now," Theo said, pausing in his buffing job to inspect how the results looked so far, and taking the moment of silence to glance back at Lucy, who sat on top of the hood of a car that was scheduled to be picked up on Monday, reading a book. His sister looked up at him with an ounce of annoyance at being interrupted, but sighed and set the book down on the car. TJ didn't have to tell Lucy to go follow Ember and make sure that she wasn't causing trouble. She knew the drill, and she preferred herself going over her brother, anyway. She knew that Ember frequented the diner that the werewolves ran on Saturday mornings, and the last thing that she needed was for TJ to have to interact with those people any more than what was necessary. Unlike him, Lucy had no particular problem with the vampires as a whole, but she still wasn't in the mood to clean up after whatever mess Ember was causing today. "I'll be back, hopefully not in need of bond money for her," she said, as she begrudgingly set out on foot towards the town's center.
