Kel put away the book he had been reading and decided he had been waiting long enough. He walked outside, Cire was still chewing on the bone from the steak trying to scrape off as much meat as he could. He lit the light on his porch so he would be able to see when he got home.
"Okay, Cire, I'll see you later tonight."
He followed the trail up to the city then before he knew it he was back at the cafe. It seemed to be a quicker walk at night. He walked in and saw the elf from earlier in the day in line right next to him. He also noticed the same human working behind the counter that had been chatting with the elf. It was clear that there was something between them, but Kel felt bad for listening in on them once more. He went up to the counter.
"I'll take a the a slice of the bourbon chocolate cake and a large mint herbal iced tea." He cheerfully gave his order to the other clerk helping at the counter.
The clerk got his order for him and he went to the a table near the book shelves and sat down. He sipped his tea as he looked at the tittles of the various books available to read. He saw a book titled Rare Herbs of the Veritas Floating Islands and their Practical Uses. He grabbed it off the shelf and began to read. He couldn't help but notice the red haired elf swooning over the human. He wished there was something he could do to help bring the two together, but he knew he would just mess it up and most likely get himself hurt in the process.
He took a bite of cake and hoped he might at least work up the nerve to talk to someone.
