Dabbing on some cologne and slicking his hair back, he headed off to the restaurant. Daniel was, as he said, a fancy place. On the inside it had high archways, and a grand chandelier hung above the main entrance. Further in, smaller less elegant chandelier's hung above the circular tables.
The hostess recognizing him as a regular greeted him. "Welcome back Mr. Duvall," she said formally. "Are you eating alone?"
"Not this evening. My date will be here shortly." He pulled out five hundred dollar bill and slid it to the hostess. "This night never happened."
Vince always ate here alone and never brought Giana with him. However, his engagement to her wasn't exactly a secret and he would prefer that no one found out about his date with Elaine.
The hostess smiled and took the money. "Of course sir. Sarah will be your server today, She'll take you to your private table on the second floor." He followed the server up the spiral staircase and walked to the lone table in the corner that gave him a perfect view of the entrance.
"May I start you off with drinks before your date arrives?" She asked politely.
"Yes, a bottle of your finest champagne will do just fine."
She nodded and went to fetch the champagne. Within a minute she brought back a bucket of ice with the bottle sitting in it. Vincent thanked her and she left to attend to the other tables. He didn't open the bottle yet, he was going to wait for Elaine first as she should she be here any minute now.
Looking to towards the entrance, he spotted her. She looked absolutely stunning in her dress, it hugged her curves in all the right places. As he headed down the stairs, it became apparent to him that many of the men in the restaurant were also appreciating her curves.
Vincent didn't like that.
He hurriedly took off after her, but went at an odd angle so he could sneak up on her.
"You look beautiful." He whispered huskily into her ear.
Sliding his hand around her waist to warn off the other males, he guided her towards their table. He pulled out a chair for Elaine and gently scooted her in. Sitting in his own chair directly across from hers, he popped open the champagne and poured in it into his glass.
Vincent tilted the bottle towards Elaine. "Care for some champagne?" he offered.
