So far, Aella’s day had been off to a pretty rough start.

For one, she had jerked awake from some stupid flipping nightmare that’s she’s been having for days, and on top of that, had forgotten to take off one of her rollerblades after coming home from a later shift at the diner and tumbled getting out of bed. Now she’s sporting a nice little cut on her forehead from hitting it on her dresser. Of course, that little cut was nothing compared to the pain Silas’s lecture gave her when he found out.

See? Not a great morning.

After all that, Aella decided to lock herself safely away in her room to listen to music and play videogames. Silas was content enough with that, as it was probably the only pastime both actually agreed on. He always kicked her ass, and she always got way too worked up and frustrated, but they kept at it anyways.

After wasting away hours and hours, Aella has almost forgotten about the concert she was supposed to play tonight until her cellphone started ringing from across the room. Pausing the game right when Silas was about to kill her character for the 45th time (not that she's counting), her best friend gave her a dirty look. Sticking her tongue out, she bounded off the bed and picked up her phone, answering with a quick, β€œhello?”

β€œAella? I have some bad news.” Immediately recognizing the voice of the guitarist and sometimes co-singer of her band, the realization that she was supposed to get her ass to Finch within the hour hit her like a truck. β€œUh- what is it Ben?” She awkwardly replied before covering her speaker with her hand. Giving an alarmed, wide eyed look to Silas, she stage-whispered, β€œyou asshole, you forgot to remind me about the concert!” Silas just smirked as he stretched out on the floor, stating, β€œI’m not your personal assistant, Stormy.” Rolling her eyes, she uncovered her speaker as Ben continued speaking.

β€œJohnny and Chase called, the both have some crazy stomach flu and can’t come tonight.”. Letting out a long sigh, Aella trailed over to her bed and plunkered down. β€œAlright, so it’s just me and you then? We gotta change the set.” Silence filled the other end of the phone for a couple seconds, until Ben’s sheepish voice replied back, β€œwell, there’s also another problem. My cars in the shop cause some idiot slashed my tires, Chase was going to drive me but now I have no way of getting there.” Aella gave a short glance over to the dark haired boy on her floor who was fiddling with the controller in his hand, before leisurely replying, β€œSilas will be over to pick you up within half an hour.” Silas jumped up from his position on the ground as if electorally shocked and immediately tried to rip the phone from her hands, clearly in protest. Aella simply leapt off her bed, racing out of her room to keep the phone out of his reach.

β€œHe’d do that?” Ben questioned back apprehensively, rightly so. Silas didn’t really get along with him. β€œOh yeah, he’d love to! See you soon, Ben!” Aella sing-songed back, as Silas finally snatched the phone from her. Too bad for him, Ben had already hung up. β€œAnd why, exactly, do you think I’m going to pick your little friend up?” Silas shouted, folding his arms over his chest and keeping her phone hostage. Aella copied his stance, folding her arms as she replied, β€œbecause I know you were the one who slashed his tires.” Silas studied her face for a minute, and she knew he was trying his best to come up with some reasonable explanation. He gave up, of course, and grumbled a string of obscenities under his breath as he tossed her back the phone. β€œThank you, Sunshine.” Aella beamed, before skipping off to her room to go and get ready.

Peeling off her sweatpants and old tee-shirt, Aella hastily threw on a shirt and some jeans, along with her favourite pair of heels. She probably would have dressed a little nicer if it was the whole band, but now that it was a simple little thing she didn’t bother. She finished her look with a braid and a little bit of mascara, picked up her electric guitar safety in its case, and left the apartment she shared with her aunt Selena.

The pub she was playing at was one she had gone to a couple of times, not that far of a walk. It was a cozy little place called Finch. The owner was a pretty nice guy, who paid her a lot more than he should be. He also had a sister working there, but it was usually so hectic with sound checks and stuff when she got there she hadn’t said much to her at all.

After about a twenty-minute stroll through the city, Aella finally arrived at the bar and knocked on the back door where she could drop her things off. Within a minute, the friendly ginger face of Davin Finch opened the door, and pulled her in, clapping her on the back. β€œHey, glad to have ya here. Where’s the guys?” Aella dropped her purse and guitar on the ground and smirked at him. β€œDang, is little old me not enough for you?” Davin gave a throaty chuckle, as Aella plopped herself down on the single couch. β€œYou know you’re welcome here solo whenever you want, kid.” Aella gave a friendly laugh back and she brought her legs up, crossing them. β€œChase and Johnny caught the flu. Ben is still coming, Silas is just picking him up now.” Davin gave a small wince, muttering, β€œpoor Ben,” as he slipped out of the back room back to the bar.

Aella took the time alone to start creating a new setlist.
