The last thing Lila remembered was falling asleep on a bench in a park somewhere. The next thing she knew, she was waking on the floor of a wooden house. At first, she thought she was dreaming, then she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes and realized, this was real.
The first thing she did was check and make sure her backpack still hung on her back. Thankfully, it was still there. If she was kidnapped, she might need the tiny blade in there, despite not knowing how to use it properly. Maybe the change of clothes would come in handy too.
Next, she got up and cautiously crept to the next room in the house.
