It did feel good to be back. River can’t deny that. As much as he hated being here, he hated being back at home more so whenever he was away, he was golden. Being back at Fulton was freeing because he wouldn’t have to listen to his father nagging every couple of minutes. Here, he could be an asshole and do what he wanted, and the worst that could happen is someone running their mouth right back to him. Which didn’t happen very often. Either because people were intimidated or because people just found River to be nuisance – he hopes for the former, but most would say it’s the latter.
River leaned himself against a counter, pulled himself up, and plopped down on top of it, while the rest of the guys in the kitchen just stood around. His phone buzzed in his pocket, and he just stared straight ahead, with a serious face, River give a slight eye roll. He wasn’t even in town an hour, and his phone was already blowing up. First Jax, now who could it be? There weren’t that many people that even tolerated River enough to text him. River leaned back slightly to be able to stick his phone in his pocket and pull his phone out. He saw a text from Eliza. Without much change to his facial expression, he started clacking away at the screen of his iphone. Summer was hell, as it always is when I’m home with Eric. Just got here, with the boys. You here? River hit send, put the phone down beside him on the counter and reengaged himself in the conversation with the guys of the Sigma house.
Eliza wasn't anything special to River, but he was some type of eye candy for her. He didn't know if she was genuinely interested in him, or if he was as much fun and games for her as she was for him. Eliza was something for River to play with whenever he wanted to have some fun without getting serious. They haven't done anything - yet - but River knows that whenever he wants to indulge in that sort of trouble, Eliza would be more than willing. He knew she liked him, he just didn't know to what extent. Nor did he truly care. River was ruthless. He was cold. Speaking of games, River thought to himself as he put his phone down after texting Eliza. Another cat and mouse he liked to play was with Scarlett. River looked up at Jax, who had a past with Scarlett. Even though these two were closer friends than most others River knew on campus, what he was doing was harmless. He wasn't actually all that interested in Scarlett, but she was fun to talk to and River was a little interested in corrupting her. Drifting his eyes from his friend, he went on to break the Bro Code and sent Scarlett a text. You back on campus? I know you must be missing me at least a little..
