Dante's attention was caught by the clicking of footsteps and he looked up from his phone to see the new maid attending to her duties. He looked her up and down. She was maybe a few years older than Dante, late twenties at the most unless she was aging exceptionally well. "Oh, I'm sorry Mr Lawson, I don't mean to disturb you."
And Eastern European. God his dad was such a cliche.
Dante smiled and waved away her apology. "I had to be up for school anyway. Don't worry about it." Dante finished the first of his many coffees of the day. "I don't think I caught your name."
"Milena, Mr Lawson."
"Milena," Dante echoed. "Hopefully you'll be sticking around a while." Dante shrugged his blazer on and picked up his school bag. "And it was a pleasure to finally meet you." His eyes were firmly glued to the back of her thighs as she cleaned down the kitchen counter. His phone buzzed, bringing him back to reality.
"Goodbye Mr Lawson."
Dante smiled to himself and began heading down to the lobby. The elevator doors binged close and Dante opened his messages.
Alas, no. Hangovers are for the weak. Why? Do you have one?
As much as I would like to, I would be late for school if I did.
And my dad hired a new maid. I swear he's so cliche it's painful
The car pulled up outside the gate to St Jude's and Dante stepped out. There was a buzz about the place that there hadn't been for a while. At least Gossip Girl was going to make this semester interesting. Given the content of the blast, Dante decided to give Clara and her minions a wide berth.
Save me a seat
Dante came into the shared hall and quickly ducked when he spotted Clara and her minions. He took a seat at the back of the hall. He dropped his bag on the seat next to him.
Or I'll save you one. Back right.

"My breathing has been perfect. All of it put into managing this assembly. I'm glad to see you got here!"
Penelope squeezed her friend for a brief moment before taking her usual place at Clara's side. "And risk missing the first day of school? Never."
Penelope took her coffee from Madison with a quiet thanks. Clearly, Madison was in the bad books with Clara again. Penelope sipped her coffee while Madison was scolded. She made a small 'oh' with her lips when the older guy was mentioned. That little chestnut then.
"By the way, have you heard from Dante or Sam? I haven't seen them yet."
"Speak of the devil, and he shall appear."
Penelope looked over her shoulder. Sam was smiling at Clara. "Behold my amazing summoning skills." she uttered over the rim of her coffee cup. She liked Sam, the problem was Penelope was pretty certain Clara had her sights on Sam. She wasn't sure if Clara held their friendship in high enough regard to not throw her under the bus to get Sam first. And Sam was a whole heap of trouble wrapped up with a very pretty bow. The media storm would be ridiculous and Penelope was going to keep that from her family's doorstep.
