|| Devil on my Shoulder || Faith Marie ||
"But you didn't inhibit mine, did you?" Someone swooped down from behind and lunged at the Black Reaper, possibly the only person brave enough to do so. For some reason she felt an impulse run through her head, to charge at him and touch the snake on his arm. To touch it and really try to feel it. The Oracle didn't have a power of her own despite the mark, but she could sense some sort of otherwordly power speaking out to her. So she grabbed Ronan's arm and concentrated, feeling the darkness and the light seep from his body into hers, an identical snake appearing on her own arm as if it had always been there. Through her pants, light and darkness shone in the puppet where it rested on her thigh. In that instant she blacked out but only for a second.
But that second felt like an eternity of thoughts, colors, sounds, of looking through a hole to the outside - outside what? What was she looking at? What was she in if this was the outside?
...
What's happening? If you really care about Yui, why are you doing this? Why are you doing this to us, why are you hurting us?
I don't get it? I don't get it!

What kind of Stars are you for creating a painful story like this?
Is this all there is? Is this all there is? Puppets dancing on strings, puppets doing as the words dictate...
We just wanted to be happy.
Her eyes snapped open, her mind felt fuzzy. Blank, as if any thoughts she might have had vanished just like that. "Your snake is mine now too." It now belonged to Mizuki. She could feel the darkness churning, churning, she could feel maggots beginning to swarm. What was going on, what was happening? Was this what darkness felt like? Blood tails erupted from her back on instinct, but instead of aiming at Ronan she pointed them to herself. "Let her go or the Prophecy dies with me." She grinned wickedly. "I burned the only copy, so if Shoku wants it, he needs me alive." Her smile grew more dangerous. "Fast, or else the maggots will eat away at my brain!" For someone not used to the darkness at all, this really was too much. And so she fell to her knees in bewildered shock, blood tails going limp.
She let out a strangled voiceless scream. Maggots, why was she so filled with maggots? And then there was a sound, a railgun was preparing to whir. "What is this." Alerted by the alarm, alerted by the noise, alerted by the scream. Raven was here, the Queen Bee of her portion of the HIVE, and she was far from pleased. Yet she grinned, not losing her cool. "So, you're here, Ronan." She smiled grimly, keeping her weapon trained on him. Don't be distracted by Mizuki's shrieks. Don't be distracted by the Cocoon in the cage. Focus on the enemy or else die to his... where? "I see you've come to visit, brother." Raven sounded bittersweet, almost sad for a moment. "If that means the darkness is gone, then please, surrender. We can still have a happy ending as a family."
The evil genius facade fell and she whimpered, crying. "I just want to save you two correctly this time." She said, baring her heart and vulnerabilities for anyone to stab. "I held this guilt ever since I was the only one to make it out. Won't you please help me grant my wish?" She whirred the railgun, wanting anything but to have to shoot Ronan. For as little as Shoku let them meet, she saw them as her true family, the Hemond siblings. Was it really so bad? Was is really evil at all?
