When he got to Cara's, he tried the door gingerly. She'd said it was going to be unlocked, but he still found himself turning the knob as if it was a guessing game. He didn't immediately see Cara when he entered, but it only took a few extra steps towards the living room for her to cross his line of vision, pouring a glass of wine in the kitchen. He was pleasantly surprised, a reaction that briefly registered on his face before dissipating behind a coy smirk. Making his way into the kitchen, he stood a foot or so away from her, leaning against the counter top. Although he knew where things would eventually lead to, he didn't expect to see her dressed in a silk set. He wasn't going to approach things ostentatiously, just because he did have some tact about him, and part of him was still wary and felt a need to keep up appearances. He told himself that he had to play aloof so he didn't seem too interested, although anyone who was coming over just for sex obviously didn't have but so much discretion on their side. But with her looking like this? It definitely set the tone and Roman felt less of a need to be as tactful as before. She looked good, and his eyes were telling of that. How was he going to act casually when she was the clear opposite of it? If her appearance said anything, it was that she wasn't trying to dance around the subject, and Roman had no problem with that. He wasn't going to pulling and kissing on her though. He wasn't some kind of deprive, ravenous animal. And, although the circumstances might have told differently, outside of that, he really didn't know her that well. Outside of the commonplace insulting banter they engaged in, she was little more than an acquaintance. Being so callous with someone did break down a lot of barriers much faster, though, so it didn't feel like he was just hooking up with a total stranger, even if he couldn't tell you her favorite color or her middle name.
When she finished pouring, he slid the glass across the counter closer to him while taking a half step closer to her. Despite his evidently pleased expression, he still felt it necessary to play cool. "I don't know why you got so dressed up when it's going to come right off," he said, pulling slightly on the bottom of her robe. After lingering for a moment, he half-ruined the moment, if it could be called that by moving back and putting her purse on the counter, his voice and position no longer sultry. "Here's this damned 'clutch' of yours," he said, trying to remember the exact word Cara could use, because his accessory vocab really didn't extend pass purse or bag. Even if it wasn't an ugly one, he would still act like it was just for the sake of it. "You sure you don't want me to burn it?" Roman turned to her, and after a quick once over because it was simply impossible to avoid being cheeky, gave a conclusive wink. "I'd do that for you."
