Gabriel was at a loss for words at the sight of the prepared meal. No one had ever cooked for him before, except his own mother. The gesture was the kindest thing anyone had done for him in a long time. He couldn't remember the last thoughtful action someone had done for him. Gabriel took a forkful and cooled down the surface by blowing on it. Curls of steam arose from the carefully planned meal. It was a shame to devour it so quickly, but Gabriel hadn't had a home cooked meal in ages. He didn't know if it would be a sacrilege to his cooking, but he drizzled ketchup on top of the dish and mixed it together.

It was perfect.

"Well, you definitely know a way to a man's heart." He said, then finished the meal with the beer. Alcohol had little effect on him, but he enjoyed the taste more than anything. The scent of the dish overpowered the room, but it created a cozier atmosphere. Gratitude settled into his mind and now he was convinced he wouldn't care if they did share a bed. Chance had managed to earn his trust in a single night, which few managed to accomplish in a lifetime of knowing him.

Gabriel undid his belt and tossed it to the couch, then he kicked off his muddied boots and let them fall to the floor. There was no sense in worrying about first impressions now. He smirked at Chance and wondered what other ulterior motives he had. Gabriel decided to test his nervousness and spoke bluntly.

"If you continue to cook like that, you can earn your keep with meals alone." Gabriel said, his mood content. Perhaps it was time to end his bachelor lifestyle, the thought tugged at his mind for a moment.

He took a large gulp of his beer and then looked toward Chance with a glint of mischief in his eyes. "So, do you have a place to stay?" Since they were being so open with one another, he didn't see the sense in beating around the bush.
