Max blinked at Spectre a moment, unsure she heard her correctly. If she was going to help her? Of course she was going to help her. Even if she wasn't going to drop the price or anything like that, she would still help. A hero wouldn't walk away from something like this. Hell, a fellow female wouldn't walk away from something like this. Not unless they were pansies. She stared, probably longer than necessary, but when Spectre urged her forward, she started. "Oh! Right yeah... my apartment is this way." She moved to Spectre's side, ready to help her if she needed, and lead her on down the street.
As they walked Max was thinking. Spectre said that she could drop the price and even allow Max to help on jobs in order to pay for her help in finding who was killing off the heroes. Her surprise slipped easily into suspicion. Sure, she agreed to help, but what if she changed her mind? Max tried not to think that way. If she started suspecting everyone who helped her she would go nuts. It was better if she didn't dwell on the thought. No need to look a gift horse in the mouth.
Max noticed Willow was having a bit of trouble as she walked. "I can do something for your foot when we get there too." She tried not to hover too close to Spectre, knowing it would probably annoy the girl because it made her look weak, but Max wasn't going to take any chances. If she fell, Max was going to catch her. She wasn't sure what was in Spectre's system, but she knew it probably wasn't anything good. "We're almost there," She said, pointing to a light blue building about 100 yards away.
