Marlene was close to moving in for another strike, only to be interrupted by the door opening up, and the adjutant coming back from running the genetic sample.
“Ma’am...” The man said, inclining his head. “We have a match in the Central Registry...”
Following his statement, he handed her the dataslate, and her expression turned into a sneer.
“Ready the Aurora chair.” She ordered, and then passed the dataslate back to the adjutant before peering down at Rei.
“You can drop the semantics, I know who you are.” Marlene warned. “And I’m going to find out what you’re up to the moment you’re hooked up to that Aurora chair... so you either come clean, right here... or you’re going to be in for a world of incomprehensable pain.”
“Why did you come here?” She asked. “Why did you leave?”
