|| Weight of the World || Nier: Automata ||
The violence, the rage, the instinct to attack without even knowing anything, that was what the humans did. And Resplendia took it she did because it was the only thing she could do. She would not hurt these humans for it was her own fault they were created in the first place. With love she wanted to create a peoples capable of love. And now Yui, the baby Star of Happiness, could she do it? So far it was not working and Resplendia was ready to return to her refuge and plant her Stems back in to once again hibernate for a thousand years. Not even the Knight was able to do much, only exacerbating the problem. What could be done? Wait another thousand years for Paradise, that was what could be done. Then she would try again. Then she would save humanity from their own evil.
Trapped in the cage of blood tails, the thousand humans had no choice but to watch. They couldn't move, and trying to fight more would only make the Black Reaper mad. So watch they did, eyes stuck on the dancing singing fledgling Yui. It was not like Resplendia's Lullaby, the calming and depressing tones of her thousand year trial was not anything like the pained yet hopeful song that Yui was making for them all to hear. The effect too, was not like the Lullaby but something else entirely. "Do we have to fight?" The little girl asked, rubbing her bruised cheek that had been slapped. The man who hit her look ashamed and he kneeled down to help her rub the wound. "I'm sorry. Here's my number, I'll pay the medicals once we're back in Japan." He offered with kindness.
Ally was just quiet as she held Mizuki's hand, both of them knowing better. When the lullaby had ended, the two girls found each other in the mass of Human Subconscious and decided to watch Yui's work, having trust that now she knew what she was doing. Resplendia was not the enemy, but neither were these humans. No one here was evil and Yui understood that better than anyone. "She did it." Mizu grinned at Ally who nodded. "I never had any doubts." One elderly woman even walked through - Ronan allowed an opening in the cage for her - and gave Resplendia a hug, causing strange ichor-like tears to spill from the eyes which had been melted shut by the flames of humanity many eons ago in their rage that she refused to continue singing for them.
Well then.
[Perhaps then, you won this time. But your job was not to save these thousand, but all of humanity. I wish you luck, Baby Star, because we both know the nature of humanity.] Selfish creatures, bound by their own ambitions, desires, dreams, fears each one of them. How would Yui solve it without a hive mind Paradise? Maybe Resplendia was eager to see it from here. Luna and Ronan were slowly lowered then, both of them still asleep, their bodies twisted to become the Gateway. [My apologies for using Luna as a gateway to pull people in. Do not worry, no harm has become of them. They were asleep, but they were watching and I know they are proud of you."] Then Resplendia's singing went to all the humans's minds. [Enter the Gateway of Angels and return home. This place is not yet for you, but perhaps in one thousand years we will meet again."]
