"What's going on? Sorry, didn't mean to sleep for so long." Atreyu slowly spoke as he re orientated himself to his surroundings. Looking at Lyra, still not really believing what he's seeing Atreyu rubbed his eyes. When his vision refocused on Lyra, he was still in absolute awe."You are magnificent looking. I have so many questions to ask you." Was all Atreyu managed to stutter out."Not to sound rude, by why are you holding that little girl, she was attempting to harm you further. Do you know her?"
Like a swift elbow to the ribs doubles you over, that's the pain Atreyu was feeling in his head at this very moment. Not even thinking about anything for a moment Atreyu rushed to his trauma to recover something for his head. Pulling out to pain tablets, he quickly swallowed them, then proceeded to dunk his face in the bucket of water.'Refreshing' Atreyu thought to himself.
Quickly returning to Lyra and the sleeping child, Atreyu just started unloading question after question"What's her name? Where are we? Do you know this place? Are there any hostiles in the area? What do we need to survive here? Do you need me to build us some shelter? How are you feeling? Are you in pain? Is the little girl hurt? What's edible?" Sorry, for so many questions all at once,"If i don't get them all out now, it's gonna be a million more questions to follow."
Continuing with gift of gab Atreyu had something he felt he needed to say. He scooted himself till he was right in front of Lyra. Atreyu reached out and grabbed her hands, with his bravest face Atreyu spilled his true feelings."I'm sorry for everything you had to endure while you were held captive on Earth, many times I wanted to blow open your doors and let you free. But I knew that would only cause you both even more pain, if that's even possible. In many ways I feel responsible for you being trapped and separated from this beautiful young girl for the past eighteen months. Humans are stupid and petty creatures. All they do is destroy everything, all they want is everything. It's a vicious circle. What I'm trying to say is that I know you don't trust humans, but I swear on my life that no harm will come to either will I am still sucking air."
Not wanting to let Lyra see his soft, gooey insides, Atreyu stood up and walked towards his pack. In order to keep himself together he did the only thing that came natural when he was upset. He pulled out his sniper rifle and began to field strip the whole rifle. Once he had all every part laid out Atreyu began to wipe them down and began singing "Carry on my wayward son." Not missing a single beat in neither the cleaning, reassembly nor his song. As soon as he completed the reassembly of "Madison," the name he gave his "surgical instrument of war," Atreyu chambered a single round. Followed by doing a quick cleaning of his side arm, then loading a full magazine and a few spares.
