It seemed like they were going to be honest, and Ambers had to give them that credit. Even if they were fae and could not lie; there were lots of ways one could avoid words or bend the truth.
"Listen, I know you've got a fuckin' issue with me, kid. There's no hiding it,"
He noted Alec's increasing agitation.
It seemed like his attempt at buying the Rebellion time to get here wasn't going to work. Whether the hawk even arrived to deliver the message to Simon, Ambers had no idea.
"We only wish to deliver a message... About the King's mother. Realistically, do you think he would be happy to learn that you'd denied him a decent chance to save her?"
He knew how much Simon's mother meant to him. Of course, Ambers wouldn't ever deny him answers or the chance to save her.
"Take Zio back with you so that he may deliver my message, or you'll be useless to us and I'll kill you myself for wasting our time. The camp must be close anyway, if you're here."
The soldier looked back to Alec as the threat of taking his life seemed to be his own attempt at persuading him, but his gaze involuntarily changed to one of concern. Even if Alec was... Alec, he looked like he was in pain.
"What'll it be, boy? What'll it be?"
"I will take you to the King." Ambers said, and he looked to Zio with a small nod.
He respected his kindness, to say the least. Perhaps he got the fact that threatening him really wasn't much motivation.
"Apologies for acting like a smartass earlier with my question. Had to make sure your motivations were legitimate. You two are indeed welcome to come since it is your message you want to deliver... and the Rebellion is aware that you three are here, anyhow." He said, and he gestured to the hand that was on Alec's shoulder that appeared to shield some sort of pain. "We have doctors. If you need."
Thankfully the four perceived him as a Fae- since he had no idea if his hawk arrived to even inform the Rebellion and Simon that Alec and the other two were here, and his tongue remained intact. That... and doctors were probably the last thing that the Rebellion would give Alec.
He looked to Antheia. "And food and water." Ambers said, and he offered a bit of a gentler look to the shifter. Perhaps it was because he knew she really had no part in the three-man group and the history they brought with them.
