"It is okay. It's the Rebellion." Ambers said, and he took a step ahead of both Zio and Antheia to raise his hand to the approaching soldiers. Mainly to let them see that it was alright- and for them to know that it wasn't necessary to draw their weapons when they came closer. Knowing their speed from where he stood, they were prepared for battle if need be.
Ambers' eyes looked to the white stag, knowing it to be Simon's choice of mount. He was surprised to see him come, and the idea of him riding in on a very noticeable and targetable colored animal brought a bit of anxiety to Amber's chest. Even if it was known that there was no intent of danger from Alec, there was still a separate fleet of soldiers that he saw earlier that were still roaming these forests.
When the group approached, Ambers parted his lips to speak to Simon. However, the speed at which the white stag was approaching at was giving the King no time to stop properly, and the hasty dismount made Roan hold his breath.
"Roan,"
Simon's speaking of his name made the soldier freeze. He never really heard anyone call him by his given name, but the tone used was one of great relief. It was then that, during the moment of Simon bringing him into an embrace, that Ambers knew the extent of panic he put Simon into with sending the message earlier. It was necessary at the moment, for he wasn't aware of what Alec's intentions were, and the possibility of the Rebellion being in danger was valid.
Especially for himself- if he was killed before he could tell that Alec was in the area and the camp was in danger, there could have been a surprise attack. Though, now that he was okay, and the threat was subdued to a point, he wished the hawk had returned to send Simon an update. Just for the sake of him knowing that he was alive and that there was not a threat anymore.
Ambers let Simon rest his forehead against his own for a moment, and he raised his hand to cup the side of his face gently as though to say 'I'm okay.'
The moment really was brief, but it was probably for the best- given how dire the message was that Zio had to deliver. That, and showing affection out in public could potentially endanger them both... especially in front of Zio, one of Alec's allies. And who knew if Alec or a Remei just watched that exchange.
"Alec isn't with you?"
"No." Ambers said, but by Simon's more spiteful expression after he asked the question meant he must have known that Alec had made the choice to keep his distance. Stepping aside next to him, Ambers went to instinctively guard the King, his hand moving to routinely rest on the hilt of his sword as Simon addressed Zio and Antheia.
"Please, forgive my poor manners, my name is Simon Davenport, leader of the Rebellion and King of the Fae... or at least what's left of us." Ambers looked at Simon, catching that small moment of fleeting emotion, and he watched as the King clasped his hands behind his back. "Might I ask your names?"
Ambers looked to Antheia, then to Zio after that question.
