Drift made it home as quickly as he could and found his family tome. He searched through it and found the spell he was looking for, Seed to Egg transmutation. It was a spell that his great grandfather had created when he was young. Someone had tried to con him by selling him a barren cow at what he thought was a great price. When he realized the cow was barren, however, he created this spell so that the live stock could thrive. From what he remembered from his father telling him the story, the man who sold him the barren cow was shocked and begged to buy the cow back, but Drift's great grandfather refused.

Drift looked over the ingredients needed for the spell and gathered what he had, but he knew he would have to tweak the spell a little for it to work on an elf. He would have to get a rare type of flower to make it work correctly, but it wasn't something that couldn't be done in the course of a day or two on a hike up the mountains.

He gathered the ingredients he had and threw them into a leather back pack along with his family tome and went back off to the castle. He managed to dodge the guards and make his way back to the room. He knocked four times as he said he would and waited for Luca to answer. He hoped that he wasn't mad at him for storming off the way he did, but Drift wasn't to thrilled with the idea of making up the contract before talking to the elders. But, after thinking about it for a while, he understood what Luca was doing and it was brilliant. He was trying to force the elders into accepting their union. By making an unbreakable contract ahead of time he was basically making it so that the pregnancy would happen no matter what and ensuring an heir to the throne, and if they tried to refuse, he could expose the pregnancy and the fact that the child was conceived of two men. A scandal would tear the kingdom apart, but if the elders accepted it, it would make the kingdom even stronger as it would set a precedent for all the gay people in the kingdom and it would be united rather than divided.
