filtThe world is cruel, but it's beautiful too.

Xeni was always bad at friends. But a good way to make a new friend was by trying to talk about a common thing, that's what Remi always said, right? And, well, Remi was super cool and amazing so of course everyone would know about her, even this short boy with the big dog would have to know about her! So Xeni decided to ask the boy, maybe he had some clues? "Hello, do you know where Remi is?" They were on the outskirts of town, the highway crossing before leaving city Vaniville Town's borders, one of the big cities of the area. "Um, who? I don't know a Remi?" The boy looked at the pinkette in curiosity. The dog came over to sniff her, as if not perceiving a threat. "Everyone knows Remi! My sister is so cool!"
"Well, who are you?" He asked, still guarded. "Veronica, stay back, she might be dangerous." Was she dangerous? Xeni didn't think she was a dangerous sort. She was probably quite a bit nicer than the aliens, at least! "I'm Xeni! Remi is my sister! She's super cool!" While the boy seemed wary of her, the dog was happily allowing herself to be pet, apparently named Veronica. The dog looked intently at the boy until he sighed, walking over despite the ruined cars around them. "Well, I'm Romo. It's a fake name, but I wanted to get away from my past." Pain flashed in his eyes but Xeni would not pry. "I want to have a cool fake name too! Hmm, hmm." Xeni looked around. She looked around at two cars. "Pair? Pa..." She glanced at a corpse. "Reek! Re..." Then she finally settled her eyes on Romo's mouth. "Yack! Ya! Pariya!" There, she had decided on a new name!
Romo rolled his eyes. "You really are stupidly naive and friendly, aren't you, Pariya?"
Maybe she was stupidly naive and friendly, but it was a part of what made her unique, that was what Remi had always told her. "Yay! Let's go hang out together then, L!" More than that, she was aware that her strange disposition made it easier to befriend nicer people as they were more likely to see her as more harmless than the normal threat, while bad guys would be more willing to take advantage of how she was. Was it a survival technique? Probably? "That's okay, most of my jokes are about me. For example, um." She put a spoon on her hair and it stuck. "I am a cyborg, I am half robot!" She did the arms part of the robot dance to hopefully entertain L a bit before taking her to the table where the rest of them sat.
Kyo and Jake were willing to accept her as at the very least a friend too. Now they had two pink haired girls! "Hullo again." Romo sighed, standing up. "Stop putting thngs in your hair, last time we had to cut off a bunch of it and you started to cry because it wasn't cute anymore." Due to Pariya's nonsense Romo learned how to be an expert barber of her odd sticky hair. "But I wanted to make a good joke!" Jokes were the best ice breakers, weren't they? "Sorry about her, if you hang out with us you'll have to deal with her bad jokes all the time." Romo had a self pitying grin as he welcomed L over.
