filtThe world is cruel, but it's beautiful too.

At the mention of the leader of the aliens helping them out, pretty much everyone froze up. Pariya frowned, was this her fault? This reminded her of the old days back when she was in school. Once she saw a girl with a big funny brown lump on the side of her head and so she asked very loudly '"What the heck is that?"' but it turned out to be a birthmark, a really big ugly one and the girl began to cry and all of her friends hurdled around her protectively and stared at poor Xeni who didn't know any better. "See, so how about we don't go try to find her." Romo told Pariya gently and the pinkette nodded. "Um.." She looked nervously at Kiyo and at Jake. "I'm sorry for bringing up bad memories."
Once eating was done there wasn't too much to do as they waited for tomorrow, for Kiki to be discharged and allowed to go. "Let's go train." Romo told Pariya, nudging her. They needed their practice just in case they had to fight again to protect their friends. Sure, Jake's bulletproof skin was good and Kiki was pretty damn good with that bow but even so, the ones with experience with murder, Jake, Veronica, and Pariya, it was up to them to protecting their friends until all their enemies were destroyed. "Is there a place to train?" She asked L but that was when Lacey came up with a gun, holding it to them. "Yes, there is. I'll take you to the training ground in the woods, but we'll have it guarded so you can't cause trouble." It was obvious that they weren't trusted. "That's okay, we just need to hone our abilities to better protect ourselves." Romo stuck his hands up, Riya doing the same to show non-aggression.
They were lead to an area with training dummies and targets in a large flat area surrounded by a wooden palisade that circled around the place, with a single gate in and out, guarded by Red Tent members on duty. "The only way out is through the gate, so don't get any ideas." Lacey growled. Pariya nodded, having no intention on causing trouble. That was how Romo and Pariya were given almost free range to practice, Romo improving on giving commands to Veronica in the middle of battle while Pariya watched, clapping. The two were like a single mind when they fought, the dog and human were really quite incredible.
After an hour of that it was Pariya's turn. "Okay, do it. We'll be here, so it'll be okay." Pariya nodded. The key was to train her ability to maintain control while in Delusion Trigger mode. If they could find a way to keep her mind stable while activating the trigger then she'd truly be a powerful foe. She turned on her Holospear and did a little cut on her finger to pull the trigger, the world spinning and no longer making sense. A voice was screaming at her and she was trying to focus on it, trying to remember to focus on it but as the chaos raged around her a part of her just wanted to get lost in it and float aimlessly in the sea of noise and colors.
Pariya was already wailing on the training dummies, her wings outstretched, slashing one to ribbons, her spear stabbing through the heart of another. Romo was yelling, trying to tell her to stop, to focus, to hone in on his voice. Veronica was whining because this never ended up working. "I know, but it'll have to work eventually." Romo grit his teeth, what could they do? What options did they have? Suddenly Pariya flew right at them, eyes alight, Veronica jumping to bite the handle of the spear, trying to force it out of the pink girl's grip. A good hit to the head would stun her and break her out of Trigger Mode, that was her weakness. As Veronica wrestled with Riya Romo clunked a rock against her head, ending it prematurely. She failed to maintain control this time too.
"Aah! Aaah!" Pariya screamed as the post-Trigger seizure took hold. Veronica held her down to stop the tremors as best as the green canine could, Romo sighing. "I'm sorry, it must really hurt, huh?" He held his head, feeling awful. "Why can't this work?" She only was able to keep control a single time, and that was during their escape from the Survivalists in the first place. Maybe if they could control the Trigger the seizures would stop, that was the point of all of this.
