Quinn watched Miriam hurry out of the inn. Confusion was written plainly over her face. She was relieved that the talk she had been dreading was over and went relatively well, but for a moment, the barbarian had seemed... calm. And it wasn’t her cold, harshly-phrased words that quelled her. She had help, from... someone.

Quinn tried to shake the unwelcome familiarity she was feeling, letting out a huff. She'd said all she had to, and now, she needed Luca.

“Hmm?” Marcel hummed distractedly, glancing up at the figure that had just shrouded him in darkness. The black knight appeared menacing, blocking the light out like that, his hulking silhouette framed in flickering orange. Marcel cracked his neck, then his knuckles, in preparation for the eloquently spoken, in-depth and insightful exposition he was about to grace the newcomer with...

“Right, I’ll fill you. Serum? Magic potion. Gives you super strength. Nobody knows what the big guy puts in it, but they keep drinking it anyway. Also,” he pointed to the shattered chair, “Makes you more... eh, intense. True Demon? Sorry to tell you, but the demon you wanna fight isn’t really the demon. You don’t want to throw down with the real one. It took out, what, six thousand people in the body of a five-year-old? ... That sounds wrong. Don’t quote me on that. Point is, lots of bodies. Tiny hands.

Fake Demon’s gonna become True Demon in less than a month from now, that’s Rola-El Lucia. If he doesn’t shack up in some mountains before Lucy – er, the True Demon takes over, we all die. And half the population, probably, but Quinn’s got a couple darts, so I think we’re good.”

Having finished his casually-delivered recap, Marcel looked over to the knight, his hands behind his head as he leaned back on his chair. He gave him a pleasant, sympathetic smile with a quirked brow.
