Gur'ta gasped as Gilmere's very skin began melting - or rather, his decoy's skin began melting.
A low chuckle sounded from behind her. "Gur'ta, Gur'ta," Rosa said. "Always rushing into things without thinking, are you? Just what were you trying to accomplish with this anyways? Gloat in his face?"
Gur'ta gritted her teeth and broke into a run, punching straight through the skeleton with a gauntleted fist. The creature's bones fell to the ground, and the spirits that screamed within her only grew louder, seeming to chant More! More! More!
The orc queen burst out from her quarters and ran through the hallways, passing confused servants, shouting soldiers and screaming peasants. What on O're was going on?
The answer became clear as she burst out of the palace, looking around her in wide eyes. Villagers backed away from this strange creature in dark plated armor that glowed red, only to be cut down by soldiers - soldiers which, for the first time, she realized were little more than corpses. Their eyes were dead, and as she watched one get beheaded by a soldier with an axe, it continued to fight. All around her was the smell of blood and smoke. Smoke strong enough that it make people choke.
Gur'ta-La- no, that was a foolish name, something constructed out of her own hubris.
No, it was Purplexia that was on fire.
