Aahh....
It could have been so beautiful.
"Watch out! She's here!" Fina warned loudly, an alarm bell ringing in her head loud enough to startle even the coldest of veterans. Callisto could have been free but the meddling robot got in the way again. For a moment, a wave of despair washed over Io as she watched her old enemy appear before her again, declaring foolish stupid ignorant things. Jace was here, the knife knocked away by a bullet. Io stood up, face carefully neutral. "Jace, this isn't Lita. Lita's gone, Grover killed her." There wasn't a Lita anymore, and Jace thought Io was the culprit here? "This is my twin sister. Callisto. She was the human inside Lita, and she begged me to end her." Her mouth curved downwards, set on her path even if it meant destruction.
Why was Jace here? Jace, the combat unit who didn't understand anything. It was only recently she learned the truth of this world and the position they were in. Was she not curious about the human inside of her as well? "My sister has cancer. She's going to die a slow horrible death, but I can spare her the pain and set her free. So don't get in the way." Whatever happened to the perfect ending? A peaceful rest, a final close? All because of this grey haired android who was attached to Lita for some odd reason that made no sense. "She's in agony just being alive. So don't get in the way, this is family business." She heard it in her mind, a question that she didn't want to answer. "But Minnie's in pain too, all the time. Would she be better off dead too?"
There was a difference of course. Minnie wasn't dying, she wasn't in this absolutely wretched state yet.
Well, it wasn't as if Io could win against Jace anyways, especially not like this. Wings outstretched, Io grabbed Callisto, flying out towards the sea. "Let's go, sis. You're almost free." With desperation Io flew, arms cradling Callisto, back mounted railgun firing bolts of electricity Jace's way to deter her from the chase. Out to the sea, towards the sun almost ready to begin to set, surrounded by waves and sparkling water splashes sprinkling their cheeks, splish splashing all around them. And then with a sudden nosedive, Io ducked them into the water, cold and chilly from winter soon to come, the weather changing with every moment.
Under the waves, Io gave Callisto a kiss on the forehead, the two sisters alone in the world now, buried under the rippling tides. Close your eyes and sleep forever, a peaceful end was Io's wish for her sister who had suffered so much for so long. "What's that? A strange car's signature is coming." A strange car? Io tried to ignore the stealth unit, focusing on her task of putting Callisto to rest, her sister draped in the white cloth Io had been wearing. "The registered owner is Metis. Your brother." Metis, what could he be doing here? Io missed him... but she couldn't let him get in her way.
