Jake kept his little girl busy as they waited for Ben, flipping through every book Autumn could get her hands on, while Jake made sure to have her clean up after herself by putting back each book where she had found it. They carried on until Ben spoke up. He left the two of them for a moment, only to come back with the returned jacket and a scarf. Autumnβs eyes lit up the moment she was asked about food, to which Jacob couldnβt help but smile. A lover of all things food, just like him. There was no doubt this was his daughter. As if in deep thought, she brought a tiny hand to her chin and hummed softly before clapping in excitement. βPizza!?β. Jacobβs smile grew as he recalled the small pizza shop theyβd passed on their way to the bookstore. Which was most likely what Autumn had just remembered. He eyed Ben for a moment as he slipped the last book Autumn had pulled, back into its place. βAre you okay with pizza?β Jake asked with a slight smirk of amusement. Jacob had never been picky about food, so heβd normally eat whatever Autumn wanted to as long as he could get her fed.
The small girl glanced between her father and Ben, as if the wheels in her head were turning, before looking at her father again. βAppa, are you taking Ben on a date?β Jacobβs eyes widened slightly, glancing in Benβs direction for a moment as if giving him a quiet apology. βIzzy, where in the world did you get that?β. He was kind of at a loss for words. Mainly because Autumnβs statement seemed to have come out of nowhere, but also because Jake couldnβt deny the fact that, had they met under different circumstances, asking Ben on a date is something he most likely would have done by now.
