Blithe did not need the portal to return, but Yue did. She pointed the child in the right direction and almost instantly returned to her body, small and fluffy, waiting for her Master to awake. Zinnia came to rather quickly, a few minutes after Yue had been guided back into her own body. She did not recall what had occurred, only a slight feeling of dizziness afflicting her from Blithe being bitten and using the mana to heal herself. "Considering Yue has returned, I presume the operation to be successful." Freya laughed, Blithe helping Zinnia into a sitting position. They wanted her to teach Yue how to form a contract between familiar and Master. Her expression darkened, "It's not an easy ritual." Many full grown mages failed in contracting demons, but this one seemed harmless enough, no doubt considering the ordeal she had gone through, Yue could successfully bind this demon to her.
Zinnia had the odd feeling that the demon would return the favor in kind. "Alright, we'll need some chalk and candles." Zinnia removed her uniform jacket, she had the odd feeling that Dean Eincrad would be fine with her absence tomorrow. Zinnia rose, slightly unsteady on her feet, and knelt onto the ground to draw a circle with chalk. She wrote the runes carefully, having remembered them from her first summoning and only contract. Once the runes were drawn, Zinnia lit the candles. "We'll need to prick your finger Yue, blood is needed, the only acceptable signature as far as demons are concerned." There was still a scar on Zinnia's palm from her own. A foolish child, she had sliced open her hand for the blood offering.
Now Zinnia knew better, one only needed a single drop of blood to seal the deal. "Now, repeat after me. Alluli Neforcious Summono," Zinnia spoke the words slowly in case Yue was still tired. "The rest is up to you to negotiate." The red haired witch rose to her feet once more and stepped back from the circle, the Elder Council eagerly watching. Mages learned from one another, they were constantly improving their craft and finessing their abilities. Most mages had the aptitude for two or three magical areas of study. The Elder Council had four or five, the strongest, bravest, and often wiliest of mages that had been elected to their position for showing exceptional bravery in the face of adversity. Many of them had seen the witch trials and had helped build the Mage Utopia themselves.
Zinnia never wanted to be part of the Council, she thought the job to be dreadfully dull. Although she was an apprentice to Freya, it was for different areas of study, not for the sake of learning laws and what have you. All eyes were fixed on Yue, she needed to make a barter of mutual succession with the demon in order to form the contract. "Good luck," Blithe winked, offering a vote of confidence to the timid witch.
